Shorter hours for me today since the bite died earlier than yesterday, and I used that experience to just shut things down instead of holding out hope for any last nibbles. First cast was in the water shortly after 6:00, and I pulled in four perch by 7:00; three were husky, and one may have been experiencing its first week on Earth it was so small! The bait mustâve been half its body weight⊠I suppose I can relate
And after those four, absolutely nothing. No bites. I moved around a bit and had a few more nibbles but I started to pack things up by 8:30 and was outta there by 9:00, leaving the beach to all of the visitors in town for the holiday. Lotta people out there, relatively speaking.
Mussels were all I used, save for a couple casts with Gulp camo worms later in the session as I was searching for any signs of life. I didnât see any seals or dolphins around so not sure why the bite stopped so abruptly both days this weekend other than âjust becauseâ. Tide was coming in fairly strong by the time I was finishing, but the water was mostly clean all morning.
