1st one for this season at MB, 21.5" on 2 small sc's, near high tide this am. So far, the crabs have been either very small or golf balls. Good fun also to run into Jusbigguns on the sand.

Have not seen any yet in the skinny. Fish were holding in a nice inshore trough.

suggestions, yes . . . be patient. IMO everything is about a month behind usual schedule. Water temps yo yoing hasn't helped. As soon as consistently at 65 & above, beans & croakers should be more active. Mostly perch past few weeks, hopefully that will change soon. Consider changing baits; I would ...

blackcloud9 Not really into the perch thing, just got that handle from 2 buds since I would somehow always get a perch during those skunk sessions. Crappie looks fun, a cousin gets bunches at Naciemento from his boat. I'm too old to get into the kayak thing or I would. Same for rock hopping jettys ...

On the sand for just an hour+. Found a school of spot fins or should I say they found me. 22", 5lbs and an 18" one. Two more on but came unbuttoned.

Solid ! Pre storm dinner bell must have gone off. Not so yesterday in SD; surprisingly dead. No interest in feeding.

Good conditions yesterday, water warming up, salad free. No sand crabs until an hour before the 8:45 high; most had no roe. Quite a few guys chucking flies, more than I usually see. Temps may drop a degree or two again for a few days from a mild NW wind swell passing through.

Hit a beach yesterday am that hadn't been to since last year. Was targeting yellow fins at a reefy/rocky area of the beach. Usual perch suspects were around but being patient led to a good strike. Fish jumped to surface and got a good look, for sure a good size yfc but disappointedly a break off ...

Nothing better than getting out with family and a nice bean to boot, a bonus. Well done !

Whoa ! That's a beast, I know because I got a 22"+ model this summer & was all I could handle to get it in on light gear. Congrats on a great catch !

Been a month off the sand so with water temps still fairly warm, decided to make a beach visit yesterday afternoon. Corbina & croakers are still around if you can get your bait to them before the perch stealers. Conditions not great, sloppy surf with sets every 5-6 seconds & fairly heavy salad ...
