Pacific Beach 8/3
After over a week on the sidelines with back spasms decided to give it a go this AM. Photo tells it all of conditions. The junk was washing back into the cast zone all up & down the beach, some spots would clear momentarily then fill in again. Lot of false kelp hits. That said managed a half dozen hand size perchies, largest right around 9". From around 7 - 8 am, corbina were feeding close in over the sand crab bed I was fishing. No takers, even on soft shells except did get one guppy about a 6 incher. Back held up, felt good to get back out on the sand.

No pun intended!

Back spasms suck. I used to suffer from 'em years ago since I was diagnosed with DDD (Degenerative Disk Disease) and I'd be out for days unable to even walk. No amount of Flexeril would help.
Glad you got back out! Sucks about having to navigate through the salad.

It feels so good to get back in the Surf zone. Beautiful mornings, knee deep in the water, have a way of making you almost forget that burning in your lower back. I have a heck of a climb in and out of my area, just because I’m too damn cheap to pay $15 to park on the beach. I figure that makes after fishing Breakfast free. I sure can feel it afterwards. Totally worth it! I didn’t get up quick enough this morning and missed the window, perhaps this evening. Meanwhile, hot shower, stretches, and back to the grind of rebuilding my Skiff, getting her ready for some Coastal Fun…

You must be making the long climb down & backup by glider port to fish Black's/Flat Rock area ? That trek would wipe me out for a week or longer !Bendo wrote: Mon Aug 04, 2025 9:23 am It feels so good to get back in the Surf zone. Sorry about the bad back... As DS said it sucks.. I get them occasionally but not as bad as when I was working... So, it's great you got out and feel better, too bad about the salad, but no skunk.. There is that...

Glad you are feeling better, PK. May your improvements hold up.... and the fishing too.
