Skunkville. Population: Me

Post by Socalspartan »

Fished Hodges yesterday. Was a beautiful morning with heavy fog on the water. My third Wednesday fishing Hodges and my second trip in a row without even a bite. In 3 trips, i’ve only landed 1. Has to be operator error, right? Here’s a pic of EVERYTHING I threw yesterday. You be the judge.

Wow, that is a complete selection. I tend to be more stubborn and stick to about 4-5 different baits...changing colors doesn't count...where were you throwing this collection of baits?

All those options how long did you give each a try for? What I do, not saying have to, start shallow then work out deeper or vise versa. It will happen for you, just keep going.

I kind of did a similar thing out there 2 weeks ago, tried a lot without much action and tried different depths. I think I’ll be going to Cap tomorrow morning, and I’m going to try the opposite and really stick to a few techniques. Just stick to a neko, free rig, etc and hopefully find something to build off of. We’ll see if it works… haha

I work the far bank down to the dam. By then the wind is usually up and I'll ride it down the same bank back to the launch. Will throw a reaction bait and a finesse bait at each point and cove on the way.

I don't always throw that many baits, but I got 3 new Cashion rods and a couple reels. Wanted to see how everything felt on the new stuff.

That’s just how Hodges is sometimes. The fish you do end up hooking tend to not be dinks at least.
