Hey All, Just wanted to post a friendly reminder about covering up and using sunscreen, especially you younger guys.
This past Friday I had to have, what was thought to be, a dime sized spot of skin cancer removed from the left side of my forehead. Well once they started to remove it they found ...

As Summer Fades, Fishing Will Start To Heat Up
Welp, summer has come to a close up on the high prairie and soon all the trout will start getting active for the winter. It definitely has been a slow summer, as we had a dry-ish winter up here, and a lot of the reservoirs had more water drained out of them than water flowing in. I caught a few ...

Re: Tip of the day
Some things I do with my rods:
1. Add heat shrink tubing around the tip to prevent tangles. Get some just big enough to slip past the tip and apply heat to shrink it over any edges that catch the line. You could also replace the tip with something like https://www.amazon.com/LINGUANG-Profile-Fishing ...

Re: Sarasota trip
Nice fish.. I really appreciate this post… I was born in Sarasota, on Siesta Key at the Midnight Pass Fish Camp… The Camp is now gone and I haven’t been back in years, but still enjoy hearing about the place… ThankYou…

Re: Sarasota trip
Love that place......I used to live there too. Good fishing everywhere.....at least years ago. Also there are some guides on the South side of the Skyway Bridge(marinas) that take you into some of the islands and mangroves around Anna Maria Island(s) for some good snook fishing. Some of the best ...

Miramar, not as remarkable but...
Hey all,
I got to head back out to Miramar for a couple of hours 2x this week. I just wanted to get on the water and decompress. If I got bass that would be a bonus. Both days ended with only 3 fish each. I guess for 2-3 hours of fishing that isn't that bad. The water was down a foot from the last ...

Hey all,
Headed back to Miramar to see if anything had changed. Got 1 whopper plopper and a couple on a t-rigged ZMan Mag Fattyz (biggest was 3.46). Then came back a couple days later and got 1 on a Ned Shot Rig (ZMan trick shotz in Meat Dog). The fish have gone deep ...

9/23-Finally back to Murray
Sometimes you just need a little break and decided it was time again to hit Murray in the morning before it gets too hot. Did not get an early start as I finally was on the water around 7:45a.m. Not much surface action so I decided to flip a little with a Tokyo rig. I probably mentioned it a number ...

Murray DD 10/1
Anytime you have a 15 fish day it's a good day right? Especially when over half of them look like this behemoth!
Wait....could this be construed as a clickbait title?
Actually numbers wise Murray has been pretty good the last couple of days, but it's all been dinks and clones for me. Saw some big ...

10/8 Murray...oh yeah!
Hit Murray with my buddy Joe this morning. The surface was basically dead as did not see any busters so it was soon worm time. Using a variety of worms, creature baits, flukes. etc., we picked up some clones here as there as it was a little later morning bite. Missed a few bites comes along with the ...

Murray 10/9
Had a pretty good day at Murray finally. I got tired of 4-5 fish days, so I decided to go back to the BFS basics that I know work day in and day out. Final count was 18 all in the 1-2 pound range (as Vinny would call them, clones), so definitely a quantity over quality day. Still they were all ...

Re: Otay 10/12
All is well folks, just some strained ligaments, and bruised cartilage. Getting some range of motion back in my neck, but it's still a bit painful to raise, and bend my arm. Pretty sure I'll be back at it this week.
Thanks for the well wishes.

10/21- SD River
Haven't posted anything since my 7.25lb bass few weeks ago at Murray(Didn't want to bore you guys as just landing mostly dinks anyway), but here is just a quick post from the SD River.
Got just 3 bites this morning on a quick session at the river and landed 2 bass.
Not big by any means but still ...

Murray 10/22
Got on the lake at 8:30 and off by 1. It was a pretty good BFS day at the Murr. 7 fish all in the two pound range and the biggest going 3.52 lbs.
Early in the day I had some success pitching to the shore. At about mid morning they migrated out between 10-20 feet of water.
I'll share the hot bait ...

El Capitan 10/24
Really nice day at The Cap. Caught perhaps a half dozen clones in the 2 pound range. Also a couple of three pounders. I thought I got pics of both of the threes, but evidently only got one. My old eyes aren't what they used to be it seems.
I also met Ron AKA Bonecrusher and had a real nice chat ...
