Re: Hodges
I went this morning with 1 million of my closest friends. Got in line at 5:30 with 25+ cars in front of me. When it opened at 6:07 I had at least that many behind me too. Concession was not open and could only use the vending machine. Lots of P/Oed people who did not bring exact change. Finally got ...

The End Of An Era...Sadness Follows
Hey all,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. I have been having difficulty finding the Bleeding Craw colored Strike King Bitsy Bugs for sale. I just found some on EBay and snapped them up as the Hodges season had begun. I decided to reach out to the company and asked if they are still ...

Re: Wake up people! Your voting has consequences !
Some of the problem lies here, county residents can not vote in city elections.
Tho the lakes are in the county , sounds like the fox is in charge of the hen house to me.
Too many deals brokered at midnight.

Re: Open lakes for fishing
Hi, go here https://www.sandiego.gov/reservoirs-lakes and then you can see the days for those lakes. However, be advised that Hodges is closed on the third Wednesday of the month and they haven't updated the website.

Bait balls of shad and good amounts of bluegill for as cold as it was. We were done by May when they really start to push shallow.

El Cap to end the year
Happy new year bass anglers!
Spent the last weekend of 2023 out at El Cap. On Saturday it just felt like even though the shore bite has been really tough recently, the rain and being 3 days post full moon made me feel like there was a chance to pick up some quality bites.
That hunch paid off. We ...

Awesome multi-species day 2/23/24
Had an awesome multi-species day BFS fishing at lake Murray. Ended up with 13 Bass and two Trout. I was throwing mini Ned rigs, and tiny jigs with TRD Crawz trailers. Most of the bass were in the 2 pound range with one over 3, and another close to 4 lbs. I have to admit, BFS has rapidly become my ...

Most amazing thing at El Cap 4/22
Went to El Cap yesterday and caught 6, unfortunately they were all smallish clones but one thing happened that made the trip completely worthwhile.
I was out in my tube, when I found myself in a giant ball of shad. They were banging into my float tube, legs, and fins. Then, all of a sudden the ...

Re: Most amazing thing at El Cap 4/22
You can legally dip net shad from any lake that has shad. You cannot snag or use a throw net for them though. A decade or so ago dip netting was big at San V on the huge schools of shad in Tollroad and Aquaduct.
You also cannot transport shad from one lake to another.

The Murr 4/25
It was a little chilly, overcast and windy, but the bite was decent. Caught 6 in the 2-3.5 pound range. The damage today was done on BFS gear and watermelon 1/8 oz. Keitech jig, paired with a 2 inch Netbait Paca Chunk. I fished it bouncing along rocky bottoms as well as casting it to the edge of the ...
