Hey All, Just wanted to post a friendly reminder about covering up and using sunscreen, especially you younger guys.
This past Friday I had to have, what was thought to be, a dime sized spot of skin cancer removed from the left side of my forehead. Well once they started to remove it they found ...

Re: Skin Cancer **kind of graphic**
About 20 years ago, I began wearing sun gaiters/face shields because I found myself in sunny conditions a lot, and sun screen on the face was a losing proposition as it had to be constantly reapplied and sun screen in the eyes is as fun as a kick to the balls. At the same time, I had adopted SPF ...

Anthropomorphism and why fish bite lures
Some opinions/observations about lures:
1. I see statements made all over the Internet that a certain lure works because it resembles such and such a bait that fish feed on. This is usually nonsense. Plastic worms work but bass do not normally feed on earth worms and they do not look like minnows. A ...

Fun Catches of 2025. Share yours...
With hardly any new posts lately, I decided to try to stir up things up a little.
I normally would not do this, but just felt that hopefully this post may inspire some
of you to PLEASE share some of your fun catches in 2025.
While none of my bass broke the 10lb range(what's new?),
I did catch 3 ...

Looks like the same fish over and over to me, just different lighting and backgrounds. I see Vinny even changed his shirt for some of the pics.

Only 5 I got this year was an early season mama out of shallow water in a mountain lake. She ate an 8 inch senko though!

It's hard to compete with the famed Mr.Vinnybass...but here are a few of my favorites from 2025! My big fish for the year was an 8.2, I'll see if I can improve on that this year! Vinny says that's impossible with all the finesse stuff I throw!

Was hoping for a 20 pound+ lake trout last year, but never got one that topped my present PB of 18.05 But I did end the year with a bang, catching this 34 inch, 14.40 pound laker on Dec. 31st.

Nothing spectacular this year...
This one was notable because it was the first trip after a big medical issue....and was just happy to get back out there. A fat stocker from Tuff Campground, near Tom's Place, caught using a homemade spinner and some Oxford commas.

Re: A nice, fresh introduction
Thanks for sharing with us and great pics also.
We look forward to seeing more fish reports from you as the bass fishing should start even getting better in the coming months. Tight lines @Osidecoffee

Hodges Start...
Well I have to say, I am disappointed in my start at Hodges...but this is most likely due to the super inflated expectations I had built up over the long closure. But here goes...two days last Saturday 2-8 and today Sunday 2-16 for a total of 2 fish, but I will get to that in a second. First of all ...

An El Cap Kinda Weekend
Feels like spring is on the horizon.. I spent both days this weekend at El Cap. Chatted with Early release on Friday and he mentioned that he and Pourboy were heading to Cap Sunday morning. I was already tentatively planning a trip there Saturday so I'd get a chance to scout a bit.

Re: An El Cap Kinda Weekend
Adding to Jeremy's post. It was a pretty good day for all baits. Chris caught fish with his jigging. It was like watching a master class, I was right next to him and he bounced the jig in what must have been inches of water, dragged it a bit and then swung for the fences. We then learned I have no ...
