2/18-Back to SD River

Post by VinnyBass »

Kept busy all last week working on a rental property and did not fish once. So, I headed down to the SD river this morning to give it a go for a few hours. Never seem to get an early start(blame old age, or don't like to be cold?).
The water temp is still pretty cold and pretty murky from the rains. I tend to fish baits a little fast(like it is July) but made myself slow down a little on the retrieves and ended up pulling in 2 bass and missed a 3rd bass. If the weather stays warm for a bit, I think the bass fishing at all the lakes will start to improve quickly.
Happy to finally be back on the water. :-)

Nice fish! Do you have to drag what ever your fishing out of far to launch?

Thanks for the update Vinny -- always appreciate them. I haven't caught a bass in months (also haven't been fishing much so there's that). This gives me some motivation.

How has Theo allowed this lack of activity?! Has he discovered girls or something else as nefarious? 😜

Haha... we're both feeling anxious about our lack of fishing lately! We went to Otay last month for the first time (before the fire). Only had a few hours in the afternoon, and although we found some busters we got skunked. Other than that, it's been fishing the bays from shore just a few times with mixed results! Let us know if you need a couple of deck hands on your next trip -- we'd love to join!

It must be your new phone @Fisheromen, or all of those mailboxes in Ramona, that distort transmissions to you from down here, because the pictures have been the same size for years.
You need to get back out on the water…… which will be soon with Sutherland opening. :-)

I've been off the water for almost 2 weeks dealing with life stuff and fishing withdrawals. So thanks a whole lot for putting your successes right in my face. :)

Hope to get back out there this week and see some of you guys out there.
