We have had a couple of snow flurries up here in Wyoming now, but winter hasn't set in like it did last year, when temperatures dipped to single digits and the snow hung around until May. No more fishing in the Uinta mountains across the border in Utah though. They definitely are covered in snow ...

Love stories like this! That’s what I have always loved about fishing, you just never know what you’re going to reel in. I’ve caught several turtles, bullfrogs, and even a king snake over the years in our lakes and so many unexpected fish in the ocean it’s impossible to remember them all.

In 2006 I landed a Coho at the mouth of SD Bay on a tube bait. Needless to say I was very surprised.

Getting very promising feedback from California Waterboards on Loveland's future, including balancing beneficial uses and environmental care. Has anyone fished upper Otay in the recent past? I fished lower Otay a couple weeks f weeks ago and decided to hike up there afterward. I'd never been up there before. It looks like it should hold fish albeit not very accessible. Inquiring minds is all.

Instead of inquiring, why don’t you go up there and give it a shot? It seems to me that there isn’t anybody talking about upper Otay. Do they not want us to fish their secret hole? All the lakes have die offs, they rarely impact the overall population of gamefish. Unless this pond has been affected ...
