I

Resized_20230514_064202.jpg

t's been tough trying to catch those elusive Crappie this Spring. With the inconsistent weather and all of the lakes filling up its been a battle. Plus Mother Nature has been know to put the best laid plans of a fisherman to sleep. So I made the 9 hr trek up North ...

Re: Loveland On Its Way BACK!

Easy to see how no one trusts any of the water Authorities in southern California! Every time they drain a lake or move water around, it never seems to be the right move or it's based on politics. We were told the new San V dam was built to be our emergency water supply, but now after record ...

Re: Rainbow Bass Fishing Lake Arenal Costa Rica

Those rainbow bass look related to tilapia? Some type of cichlid? Cool catches.

Autumn fishing on the high prairie 2023

We have had a couple of snow flurries up here in Wyoming now, but winter hasn't set in like it did last year, when temperatures dipped to single digits and the snow hung around until May. No more fishing in the Uinta mountains across the border in Utah though. They definitely are covered in snow ...

Re: SAN DIEGO SHOCKED!: BASS ANGLER BAGS SALMON IN SAN DIEGO RIVER

Love stories like this! That’s what I have always loved about fishing, you just never know what you’re going to reel in. I’ve caught several turtles, bullfrogs, and even a king snake over the years in our lakes and so many unexpected fish in the ocean it’s impossible to remember them all.

In 2006 I landed a Coho at the mouth of SD Bay on a tube bait. Needless to say I was very surprised.

Re: New Loveland Updates

Getting very promising feedback from California Waterboards on Loveland's future, including balancing beneficial uses and environmental care. DFW is one of the participants in taking care of Loveland now. There won't be punishment for what Sweetwater did, but it seems everybody knows it can be done ...

Re: Lake Mohave Questions

It seems like most S.D. fisherman don't go much north of Havasu! I know more L.A. guys go to Mohave. You might ask the question on an L.A. fishing site.

A Christmas Gift to Yourself?

During this special time of year(cannot talk about the religious aspects as you know), there is lots of giving to show our love or
appreciation to our loved ones in our family and friends. There are gifts of all shapes and sizes and values given to others, but what
is most important as they say ...

Re: A Christmas Gift to Yourself?

It was actually after my birthday that I bought myself a pair of 10x fixed-focus binoculars. Now I can spy of fellow fishermen to see what they are using that is working so well. Kidding!

Upper Otay??

Has anyone fished upper Otay in the recent past? I fished lower Otay a couple weeks f weeks ago and decided to hike up there afterward. I'd never been up there before. It looks like it should hold fish albeit not very accessible. Inquiring minds is all.

Re: Upper Otay??

Instead of inquiring, why don’t you go up there and give it a shot? It seems to me that there isn’t anybody talking about upper Otay. Do they not want us to fish their secret hole? All the lakes have die offs, they rarely impact the overall population of gamefish. Unless this pond has been affected ...
