Re: Favorite lure of 2024

This is a 5 inch ZMan Streakz. Along with a Gamakatzu light wire 4/0 Hook, skip casted way back under cover on 30 Braid. It floats. Of the 11 Bass I caught between 7-9 pounds this year , I landed 9 on this.

Re: Favorite lure of 2024

Definitely the Strike King Bitsy Bug Jig with the Berkley Craw Fatty trailer. It's been money all year.

I have used these a few times, but only the ones sold at Walmart. They have always been 1/4 ounce and white plus another natural color only. Your post led me to find them at Tackle Warehouse ...

Re: Lake Domingo?

No intel on fish , I hunted quail in that vicinity years ago . If you look up lakeside Sportsmans Club ,
it is shown to on Google earth Pro . The members are able to pull trailers and fifth wheels into the site for camping . Probably not 4x4 . Jewel valley road is very deceptive in that you need ...

Re: Hodges

I was interested in going to Hodges but I thought about the crowds for the opener and changed my mind. Any word on the crappies? I'm wondering how many are left after getting smashed the last 2 years with the low water situation.

Re: Hodges

I too was at Hodges but was one of the lucky pissed off people behind Pourboy. Got the last parking spot all the way up by the porta potties and on the water by 7:45. Hodges concession was not ready for the opener I assume. Or someone was sleeping on the job. Got 2 as I came around the point on Del ...

Re: Wake up people! Your voting has consequences !

Some of the problem lies here, county residents can not vote in city elections.
Tho the lakes are in the county , sounds like the fox is in charge of the hen house to me.
Too many deals brokered at midnight.

Sign against reduced City Lakes access

Hey everyone, I saw this on Nextdoor.
If you go to https://www.change.org/topic/san-diego there is currently a petition to sign to keep Lake Miramar open more than just 2 days a week.
I imagine there will be many San Diegans out there doing what they can to try to fight reduced SD City lakes access ...

Re: The Lakes

That's excellent. Does anyone know if they will restore Wednesday access at Barrett, ticketmaster had no tickets for Wednesday. They also raised the prices.

That's not good news......but at least you have Otay, Hodges and Murray as an option. Not as fun as Barrett, but at least something.
Don't ...

El Cap 4/23/23

Fun little trip to El Cap this morning. Night and day from last weekend were I managed 2 fish in 2 days.
Mostly worm fish, with an underspin bonus. Tight to or in cover was the key for me. Managed a mission to get one of my catches out of a bush that involved me keeping pressure on the fish for 5 ...

Back to Monday Fun day!

It took San V an extra month to get going, but it's on now! What a difference 2 weeks makes...got there at sunrise 2 weeks ago, 6 boats..today at sunrise, more like 30! First cast, lost a 6lber in a bush..bad omen, nope! I got into a solid pattern and didn't move more than 100' for the next 5 hours ...

Morning Run to El Cap 5/16

Postponed a cool windy Friday for a warm sunny Tuesday at El Cap…WRONG! This winter that won’t let go had the lake chilly and white capping by 10am today. It probably slowed whats been a decent bite but seeing the shad along the shoreline pushed us to throw spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and flukes over ...

5/16 Marvelous Morning at Murray

I have had some tough trips this year to Murray where I worked hard just to catch a couple bass(thank you for lowering, then raising the water, then lowering and then raising it a little etc, etc., etc.) Anyway...My last trip in the beginning of May showed a little sign of improvement. This morning ...

Re: Anyone have any hints on Diamond Valley Lake?

Light Line is the key at DVL. I wouldn’t be fishing anything above 7lb on finesse setups. Can’t go wrong with a drop shot there. Just make sure you have weedless hooks as the stick ups there can eat some tackle. I like the Roboworm Rebarb hooks. Check the backs of coves for late spawners and if not ...

San V...summer coming!

You can't tell by the cold, drizzly weather..but the fish told me today! I thought for some reason when I hit San V on Monday morning, that I could take up where I left off two Mondays ago..wrong, wrong, wrong! I started flipping senkos between the brush in 4'-6' of water and soon realized that the ...

Re: San V...summer coming!

Yep those 8-13” thin Senko fish in the trees were the pattern for me a couple weekends ago out there. Stark difference from Cap right now, there’s Bait boiling all over in open water there.
