Decided to skip a trip to Murray and headed out to the SD river. Got there around 7:30 and there was even more surface area covered with a green film than last week. I imagine that with some good winter rains it will be able to flush out a lot of this yucky green water. On the positive side, after a few casts, it made my green braid line ever greener...ha ha Started off with a crank bait and later switched over to an underspin. Not much later, I decided to start flippin' as that is one thing that I have had my most success with the last number of years at the river. Started working a brushhog and I flipped it into some sunken branches and suddenly the line was heading out away from the shore. The bass in the SD river really fight hard and when I set the hook, I knew I had a nice bass because it started taking out drag and I set my drag pretty tight. The fight was on as it started digging in and it came out of the water 2 times and I just was hoping so much it would not come off. I finally landed it and being very jazzed is an understatement.
This bass weighed 7lbs 3oz and the biggest bass I have ever caught at the SD river. A PB for the river. I continued to flip and did not stay as long as I normally do, and landed a small bass on a craw bait and an even smaller one not much later on that same bait.
Trying to land the bass below was scary, but after all it is Halloween!

Tight lines everyone
Just another pic....come on Vinny.. hold it
steady and try to get a good pic ha ha
Had to post these other 2 small ones for
@Mcfish as he really enjoys looking at skinny bass. Ha ha!
I guess this one wanted to be a trout for Halloween
