Re: Fluorocarbon Leader
I doubt you would see other benefits (ie invisible less stretch) of FC compare to Copolymer in 4-5 feet beside abrasion resistance. Do you plan to get leader material or just any line out of filler spool? If I can, I would go without leader to avoid weakness of connection knot. If I fish a lot of ...

Re: Used torn soft plastics
Mend it doesn’t really work on Elaztech stuffs especially ZinkerZ would melt. Now if it worth, really depends on damage and how many you can fix at once. Mend-it will dry after opened so it is not good to fix just a few pieces a time. Mend-it work well if you have a lot of surface to work with like ...

Re: The BFs "Craze"
BFS for bass doesn’t have to be 1/32oz or even 1/16oz lures. Any lure in 1-2” range with 1/8oz weight should be able to control more efficiently. With that said I’d rather catching a bass with 3/8jig than lucky craft SP 50 all day long. BFS is very effective in small communities pond with high ...

Re: Shimano MGL reels in saltwater?
I never but wouldn’t be hesitating to use one if I have a chance too as long as proper care given after each time (rinse, air dry and oil where needed)
Nowadays, in my humble opinion, MGL spool is just thin wall aluminum with special design holes to save some weight. Even Shimano now advertises ...

Would you guys post a picture of bass especially good 7-10lb bass if caught with live bait worst yet cut bait??? Last night a big 7-8lb bass hit my catfish rod with fresh cut bait while hunting for crappies. Unfortunately the bass swallowed the hook but luckily I used 4/0 hook and mouth is big ...

Re: giant bass pictures???
Heck, post it. A pic of a nice bass is fun to look at. When you said "last night" I was wondering what lake is open at night...ha ha
Guessing bigger bass bite better at night?
Ninja fishing, maybe🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Just a sample of night bass but not this one because I was busy getting the hook out and let ...

Re: Ultralight fishing at Otay
Ultra light bait caster is quite fun for crappie especially float tubing. You don’t really need a super long rod about 5-6’ should handle nicely. Line choice 6-8lb quality braid should be fine with multi species setup but ultimately for pure distance I go with nano braid or Nanofil line. The problem ...

Re: Curado 200E7 frame
The parts for Shimano E series considered as obsolete both here and overseas . It is gonna be hard to find one. You’d better off buying a whole used reel for parts from flea market or eBay. The problem is high dollar price since this series is one of the most popular series from Shimano, a bit ...

Re: Finally it is time…
Haven’t been fish much for the past year or so while giving all my time to golf. Finally time to get back to my favorite hobby. First off got a new reel to start for next season Daiwa Salamandura SV 70 (just for the heck of color). Then time to clean all the reels. I don’t deep clean the reels ...

Re: Looking for a trout reel
If you want smoother reel, I recommend Daiwa. Budget, 2023 Legalis or Exceler would do good, mid end old Tatula LT. I also go with 2000 size same body as 1000.
I had Vanford 2000 for a year even though I like the loud drag sound but not as smooth as any of Daiwa.

Re: First day out and over 70 fish in 4 hours
From all of your super effective creation, I’d bet you I can catch plenty of fish with some simple Walmart stuff like baby shad, CB slider and tube.
Baby shad for all around
Tube for when fish not so aggressive or doesn’t want a lot of movement (spawning time)
CB slider when fish feeding frenzy ...

Re: First day out and over 70 fish in 4 hours
If only Senkosam was local then we could have all of you on the water in a contest to see who the real expert is.
If he is local I would take him with me in a heartbeat. I want to learn from the best, No pun intended regarding his creation. I used to think I’m good, once I fish with ...

Re: First day out and over 70 fish in 4 hours
“ What about you Camo and Just Bass? Name all the conditions and locations you do well and specifics when it comes to lure choices.... or is it a secret?”
It is not secret, I only do good here in my small 400 acres private lake. I don’t fish anywhere else but here where I can find 10lb bass, 17 ...

Re: How to stop lures slipping off hooks ?
I always dropshoting with weedless hook. My 2nd favorite is Gamakatsu widegap #2. I also use the same type as owner down shot offset hook. My worm usually soft hand pour which last one fish per worm for nose hook. I can manage a few more fish per plastic with weedless hook type.

Culling others for bass.
In the small-medium size lake (3-400 acres 60ft deep) with the main forage is shad, and catch and release is very common,Would culling other species benefit bass growth?
