Work sucks, butt….
Went out a couple times after work (Sunday and Wednesday) so get some time in the water in Coronado and not a bad session considering water conditions. Found a few open spots and small to average size fish.
Anyone seen good size sand crabs out yet?

Nice work on the hali. I've targeted them at times at Coronado but yet to get one. Occasionally, hit on some decent croaker & corbina there but not on sand crabs; usually blood worms or ghost shrimp. Never found any crabs at that beach, lots of clams though. Lots of small crabs & some too big, like golf ball size, at a lot of beaches right now. Just have to get out and find them.

Smalls and golf ball size.. The smalls are useable, if you put a couple on a hook….

Re: Work sucks, butt….
Thanks guys for the sand crab report. I'll using my lucky craft since that seems to be working for me at the moment. Went out again yesterday in the low tide and caught a couple more hali's with one being just 1/4short of a keeper. Anyone know if you're able to eat fish during red tide?

Was wondering if that first fish taped out , Looks good . IF you want less hassles with the weeds and fish handling , change out you trebles for inline singles a size or two bigger , really helps with clean release of shorts and actually tangles in the box or hand so to speak . All my stick baits have singles and have never noticed a difference in hook up versus strike ratio . However I fish 150 and even 170 MM baits in the surf . Thanks for the report . WR

Thanks Will for the great tip. I will definitely do this next time I go out. As for the Hali, unfortunately I didn’t have my measuring stick in my backpack and didn’t want to risk it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Went out to TP yesterday for the incoming tide and water was way cleaner than down south.
Not much action but did manage to get another short Hali. One of these days I’ll catch my first keeper.
