Good job on bringing the group back together and for coming back to join.
Here is a quick update on Loveland. With Fox 5 San Diego Videos. Miriam At East County Magazine has reported several times too. Reader has reported again.
I am shocked at the way people will talk about what they know ...

Best way to land kayak halibut
Kayak fishing lends some challenges when landing Halibut compared to boat fishing. When in a boat, all you need to do is get the fish over the rail but in a kayak you need to keep the fish almost completely restrained until it's dead. If a Halibut goes apeshit on deck there's a great chance that it ...

Massachusetts Fishing
Hi everyone, I moved to Massachusetts a month ago and have been fishing a lot in my free time. I had heard people tell me that the inshore fishing here was good but I wasn't expecting it to be this good. I'm not even exaggerating, I think I've caught close to 200 striper since late August. I caught ...

Re: Massachusetts Fishing
Those stripers are quite the table fare species. I grew up in the Chesapeake Bay region of MD where they were widely known as "rockfish." Glad to see they're plentiful, (which hasn't always been the case). Thanks for the report!

Re: Massachusetts Fishing
Have you had opportunity to check out the Cape Cod canal ? Has been a bucket list item for me for years . Thanks for the report . WR
I have a couple times but haven't really had much success there so far or really put any kind of regular, consistent time into it. I think the fact that the ...

Re: New Loveland Updates
Loveland Peeps.
My exit point as the leader in this fight has arrived.
The next Chapter in my life starts with more camping and fishing in retirement.
Thanks to anyone who pitched in.
Good things will come to Loveland and its enthusiasts.

We got a commitment for letters of support for the restoration of sunrise to sunset access from the Alpine Planning Group last night and the same for my proposal to use the SDGE easement roads. There are many letters of support for these things piling up.

Keep our Lakes Open
Hey guys, Everydog has been busting his butt to help save our fishing venues for a long time.
He has always gone out of his way doing anything he can possibly do and we should all acknowledge him for his great efforts.
Anyway, this is a critical time that instead of just laying back, we all need ...

Re: Skin Cancer **kind of graphic**
The most effective sun protection is SPF50 or above is clothing although I prefer sunscreen for the face myself. But a Buff (face and neck gaiter) is even better. If you find a Buff constricts your breathing, then try a bracket like https://www.amazon.com/Internal-Comfortable-Breathing-Protector-%EF ...

The Far One 4/27
Hit the road at 6:30am and made the 1hr 20 minute trek from Oceanside to the most remote lake in San Diego County. Got my boat all dried up the night before but arrived to find out my cooler had tilted over and spilled all the melted ice into the boat 😩 Spent 20 mins getting that all dried up and ...

FISHERIES INVENTORY AND UTILIZATION OF SAN DIEGO BAY, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA FOR SURVEYS CONDUCTED IN APRIL AND JULY 2022
Vantuna Research Group published their 2022 survey a few months back. You can read the 82-page report here. They conduct this trawl and seine survey twice a year, every few years, so it's interesting to see the seasonal differences within a year, as well as trends over time. Additionally, they ...

SD Bay 12-7, slow
Fished with two guys from work. Morning incoming wasn’t even 2 feet. Hot, no breeze, fish were taking a nap like I should have been home doing. Got a handful, just wondering who else was out and if you found anything consistent.

Re: SD Bay in winter
Picked the wrong spot yesterday (Sunday the 5th). Only got 16 (I think) spotties while my friends were a half-mile away roping a ton of fish. Also got a few short halibut.....and had a big one hooked for a while.
So if the halibut spits the hook and ends up foul-hooked right in the middle of its ...

Re: private charter recommendations?
Thanks for the info. I do remember Brothers being recommended quite a bit. Agreed there's so many charters out there that it's hard to know which ones are legit and which ones are just out to make a quick buck. I'll take a look at those options to see pricing and availability.
