Another Ramp Becomes the Dust.

Post by Str8t Slabaronies »

Lower Otay is about out of time as far as the ramp goes.

I'm hearing the 30th is the last day it will be usable. I will be out for my memorial fishing services this Saturday. One last panfish run. :(

https://www.sandiego.gov/reservoirs-lak ... -reservoir

Due to declining water levels at Lower Otay Reservoir, the launch ramp is expected to become unusable around the end of May/early June 2026. We encourage visitors and event organizers to plan accordingly.

RIP Ramps
Otay 64% & dropping
Sutherland 9%
El Cap 10%
Hodges 14%

Who's next? Miramar Murray San V?

And why is Barrett @ 70% capacity?

San Diego Bay is still 100%. They haven't figured out how to drop that.

Have they given reasons why they are being lowered? I’ll have to look into it if it’s due to structural issues like Hodges.

The city’s using the water nowadays to save money, instead of just storing it for emergencies & importing water for use.

They won't buy water. Now when all our water supply are depleted. You know they haven't saved any of the money that was for buying water and we will see what happens.

They won't be able to buy water soon. The colorado is drying up. They better declare a drought, start building more desal and water recycling fast.

I was there on Saturday. I had to back to within a foot of the drop off at the end on the ramp. It's definitely at the end. Not a long ramp though. Very short compared to some of these other lakes. Otay will still be above 50% with no ramp.

Oh yeah... That rock pile on the right as you enter Harvey's Arm is about 1 to 2ft from the surface with no warning buoys. Pretty dangerous if a boat hit it for sure.
