Re: Another Ramp Becomes the Dust.
They won't be able to buy water soon. The colorado is drying up. They better declare a drought, start building more desal and water recycling fast.

Re: Another Ramp Becomes the Dust.
I was there on Saturday. I had to back to within a foot of the drop off at the end on the ramp. It's definitely at the end. Not a long ramp though. Very short compared to some of these other lakes. Otay will still be above 50% with no ramp.

Re: Another Ramp Becomes the Dust.
Oh yeah... That rock pile on the right as you enter Harvey's Arm is about 1 to 2ft from the surface with no warning buoys. Pretty dangerous if a boat hit it for sure.

Lower Otay Launch Ramp
Otay Reservoir launch ramp will be open until further notice. The lake will remain open. Launching Kayaks, Float tubes & car toppers is still allowed,
as well as shore fishing. You can still rent a boat, pontoon or single kayak. I will update this site if any changes occur.

Re: California can't be far behind...
I'd like to see them try to stop the tribes in any state from salmon fishing. This will never happen. I can imagine the Supreme Court getting the case:
Justice Barrett: "The precedent would need to also apply to all vehicular activity, as rabbits, deer, insects, frogs, etc. are also subject to ...

Re: California can't be far behind...
This is going nowhere. That being said, if this supreme court got the case, they might uphold it if it means their billionaire corporate overlords can further control the food system.

Re: Trailer repair
I HIGHLY recommend Jared. He did mine while I was out fishing on El Cap and he did an amazing job! He will meet you at the lake and take care of the trailer while you fish.
I have no connection to him other than having used him to replace my bunks. Did an amazing job.

Re: Fishing kayaks
A few people have reached out for information because the add was not there. I reached out directly through the app to check. Here is what I got so far. Will update. I’m not looking for myself as my wife wasn’t happy when I bought home another kayak and paddle board as it was. Just checking so any ...

Re: Urchin or Dice or whatever you want to call them
The way guys in the big tounaments are smoking them is using forward facing sonar and fishing it like a jerkbait. I've tried this experience on a buddy's boat and it's pretty exciting watching the fish get fired up and chase it, but at the end of the day, it's not my favorite way to fish.

Re: Bass Pro Shops
I hope our local tackle shops can still continue to stay open.
If local shops have even a single brain cell to rub together, they shouldn’t be worried. To put it bluntly: Bass Pro sucks. Their stock is garbage because they try to carry everything and fail at all of it. Their inventory is a mile ...

Re: Reel Boxes
I keep mine, dunno why. I never resell the actual reels, I never put them in there for storage. They just...sit there, empty.
I have all types of excuses.
"What if I resell it?!"
"It has the schematics in there!"
"It has bearing oil from 2005!"
"It has a wrench!"
Im debating tossing all mine ...

Re: Urchin or Dice or whatever you want to call them
7.3 suspended under a dock. Turn on a glad bait and sink out. Came back and friend fired a stupid dice bait on the dock and she came out and ate it like a trout eating a dry fly. Just slurped it in.

San Clemente Pier Boats
This is hanging in The Fishermn Restaurant on San Clemente Pier.. As kids in the late 50’s-mid 60’s, my older brother and I fished every one of these boats…. Great times… RIP Terry
Butch
By the way, I turned 12yrs old on the date on the top right of that pic…

Re: Where’s the best place to take my 10yo to catch dinner?
Take her out in the ocean on a half day boat. The Dolphin out of Fisherman's Landing on Thursday mornings has kids fish free with an adult purchased ticket.

Re: Miramar.... is such a sad sight to see
ALL of our lakes are a sad sight to see with the exception of maybe Lake Murray. Even San V is reaching its limit as far as low water. It sucks!

Re: Miramar.... is such a sad sight to see
The mandate in CA/SD to build more housing leads one to wonder where the water will come from to provide for all those new residents.
Having the reservoirs all so low is a danger to the county.
Its true, some current dams have been flagged by the state as a potential hazard with the lake at full ...

Seen a post where Bill gates is talking water shortages is the next covid. Could it all be about control?? Very strange imo
