Murray 5/13 and my go to bait.

Post by Dannicus »

Fun day at Murray. Final count was 7, albeit mostly clones. I thought I'd share my go-to bait. It's been killing them at Murray, but at El Cap and Otay too.

It's a 3/16 oz Keitech Tungsten jig, with a Crush City Ned's BLT trailer. The jig seems to help target bigger fish than the Ned rig alone. I can work it like a jig, or stop it and just shake it because the bait stands up when it sits there. This is the bait responsible for the 8 and a half pounder I caught a couple of weeks ago so it seems to catch all sizes.

I love the Keitech tungsten jigs. My go to jig is the Model 2 tungsten football jig in 1/4oz (wish they made the football in 3/16 too) with either an OSP DoLive Beaver or a Keitech Flex chunk Trailer.

I have caught more fish on the jig with the Ned trailer than I have on an actual Ned. It’s a very cool hybrid jig!

Looked for you on Monday at Murray and glad to see you back on the water there. No mud or quicksand like El Cap...ha ha
Nice Job Dan. Thanks for sharing and hope to see you on the water soon. :-)
