El Capitan 8/12
Had a really fun 18 fish day at The Captain today, but I had to go old school to get them.
Started off on top with 2 on the Gunfish. Then I switched to a jig and got a couple more. Then the bite just stopped, so I tied on a pegged Texas rigged Trick worm and evidently that's what they wanted!
Most were 2 pounds clones with a couple of threes and fours scattered in there to keep things interesting. I didn't get a pic of my biggest fish of the day but it had to be close to 5. It choked my bait badly and it took so long doing hook removal that I wanted to just get her back in the water as quickly as possible.

I never said BFS never works in grass (even though McFish tried to quote me with out me saying a word….. but after all he is Mcfish).
Anyway, I just wanted to say what a nice job you did out there at El cap.
Tight lines always buddy!

Re: El Capitan 8/12
That looks exactly how my buddy does it. Just drag all the grass with 'em. Makes 'em look bigger.Dannicus wrote: Tue Aug 12, 2025 6:00 pm Oh and who said BFS won't work in grass and cover?IMG_20250812_142111741_AE.jpg

Re: El Capitan 8/12
Is it ok to weigh them with 5lbs of grass on them....asking for a friend (Vinny).....?DarkShadow wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 12:31 pmThat looks exactly how my buddy does it. Re: El Capitan 8/12
Yeah but it becomes more obvious in the picture. In Vinny's case is think it'd be more effective to weigh em with one of those 3 pound chunks of iron he fishes still hooked in it's lips.Mcfish wrote: Fri Aug 15, 2025 3:42 pmIs it ok to weigh them with 5lbs of grass on them....asking for a friend (Vinny).....?DarkShadow wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 12:31 pmThat looks exactly how my buddy does it.
