Morning or afternoon?
A question for bay anglers. I’m only available to fish on Saturdays and always choose a gentleman’s start(7:30am)out of convenience. It seems most anglers here prefer the morning session. Curious about other anglers experiences.

For me with the new time change (I wish it would stay this way) I prefer the evening bite I can get a few things done during the day and I have more time get my fishing plan down, but it’s close almost a flip of a coin.
I’ve wondered this myself.

I like fishing early morning. Get in and out before the crowds. Plus if I'm in my canoe the wind doesn't pick up usually till the afternoons.

Re: Morning or afternoon?
Morning, 1st light if possible. Easier parking, fish before the afternoon boat traffic, mostly beat the wind. Even on a slow day and small tide swing, often will pick up a few 1st thing in the morning, especially if it isn't cloudy.
Doesn't seem to be any advantage to getting out before 1st light though.
I pop out of bed early on a fishing day, no problem for me to start early.

I go by the Tide. Some spots are good at low Tide, some high Tide, some while the water is moving between the two.

Highly prefer morning to avoid boat traffic and winds. You usually have the bay all to yourself when launching right at sunrise.
