Greetings All,
Finally got some time off to get the workshop set for the boat (picking it up next month from Oceanside), and get my tackle set up. What started as the "man cave" ended up becoming a partial "she shed/she shacks." 1/3 of the workshop is for craft storage and Christmas decorations ...

Re: Hodges
I too was at Hodges but was one of the lucky pissed off people behind Pourboy. Got the last parking spot all the way up by the porta potties and on the water by 7:45. Hodges concession was not ready for the opener I assume. Or someone was sleeping on the job. Got 2 as I came around the point on Del ...

Re: Hodges
Nice report. Does anyone know if the wed/sat/sun fishing open only applies to being on the water, or if it applies to shore fishing as well? I see people shore fishing there all the time, but am not sure if they need permits and are subject to the "open" rule.
Also, given the lake level, is shore ...

Re: Mission Bay
I hooked something big while drifting in deep water in the big bay...it fought hard for a few seconds, then came off. Reeled up to find my line was chewed nearly to the breaking point above the plain lead torpedo sinker. Figured it was a halibut that grabbed it because it was bouncing along the ...

Burn Out?
Anybody ever get tired of one particular type of fishing so much they take up an entirely new type?
About a dozen years ago, I was fishing A Not So Secret Lake almost every weekend, and we'd have triple digit fish days most of the time from shore. Yeah, they were your cookie cutter 2 pound bass ...

Re: What size fish hooks to use for spotted bass and other things in the bays?
This doesn’t mean we can’t catch the hell out of them, pat them on the head, tell them good luck, and send them on their way. As far as McDonalds, just no. Basically, most commercial caught Fish, has sat in the Sun, on deck for too long then aged four or five days before you get it. Perhaps quick ...

As Summer Fades, Fishing Will Start To Heat Up
Welp, summer has come to a close up on the high prairie and soon all the trout will start getting active for the winter. It definitely has been a slow summer, as we had a dry-ish winter up here, and a lot of the reservoirs had more water drained out of them than water flowing in. I caught a few ...

Attack of the clones week 21st to 27th
The past week was the typical shore pounding results this year. You catch a few fish here and there and in low numbers. I went to San Vicente, Poway, and Sweets. If you want a free shower, hit the lake trails at Poway. The grass and weeds are nice and thick you will be soaked in seconds with May ...

8/11- Missed opportunities are no fun
Took a rare drive with my kayak up to that lake that is 38 miles North & East of..........ok you guessed it, if you said Lake Sutherland. I decided to give it a try even though it has been really tough fishing this year for many and for me the last time I fished there months ago. I arrived and saw ...

Big'un Hodges 4/28
Caught several clones and this behemoth at Hodges this morning. My scale sucks but definitely in the 8lb range. I debated on going to Otay today as it's much closer to me. I'm glad I chose to make the drive! It was great to see Pourboy out there too. Good times!

Re: New PB from Sutherland
Started off very low. Since it has come up probably 18 feet. Good healthy level now.
