Might be a hybrid between 2 types or a mutation. Are those light splotches natural coloring or sores on the side of the fish?

My bet would be Brown rockfish . i have caught a few in very shallow water IE the surf , but not inside the bay . Cool catch http://kenjonesfishing.com/wp-content/u ... 20x385.jpg
