Re: Because yes
I prefer boneless/skinless fillets, but sometimes i do it this way. My wife prefers them this way. I eat a little bit of skin.

Re: Because yes
That stringer brought back lots of memories. I remember the times when I was younger, I would bring some bass home and my father would cook them up, but they never looked as fancy as you prepared them. Your preparation makes those bass look mighty tasty!

Re: Because yes
Last time I brought bass home, I was in my early teens, and my folks cooked them, ate them, and told me not to bring them home again.

Looking good, never seen them prepared this way. Bass not tasting good is one of the wildest myths in fishing, I prefer them to crappie.

Re: Because yes
Keeping fish cool(or alive) all day is the key. I use to be a c/r guy but now we eat fresh fish about 2-3 times a week. Cant imagine life without it.
Lmb isnt my fav, but its good. And easy to get.

To each their own I guess. People put carp in bath tubs for days and then cook them, so I guess there's a niche for everyone.

Re: Because yes
In my culture, there is no distinction. If you catch it, then bring it home so we can cook it. It can be any species caught in any waterway.StinkyPinky23 wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2024 11:09 am I thought the same thing. I guess some people prefer subway to jersey mikes or submarina![]()
Today, I get looked at weird by my fam since I'm a C&R angler. "You fish, but don't bring them back home so we can cook them?"
I had to explain to them what 'paisa mentality' was. If I want to eat fish, I'll go to a restaurant. I don't need to justify my launch fees.

Re: Because yes
I keep maybe 1 out of every 100 bass I catch but I don't feel guilty about it either when I do. I like em beer battered or on the smoker. I just really prefer the taste of filet sized bluegill or crappie so if I am fishing for dinner that's what I'm usually targeting.
