Float tube essentials....

Stuff that you might not see on other boards.

1. I keep a little plastic tub with a snap-on lid in the tube. When I remove a lure, it goes into the tub rather than back with the other tackle. Easy rinse after fishing...let dry before putting back in the tackle box or bag.

Re: How much of a workout is float tubing?

Water is warm now. Don't need waders or boots. Some people get sore hips or back some don't. My back was jacked.up for a year...hurt to hike or bike but didn't bother me in the tube.
There are places on both bays with easy launches and very little tidal movement, so you can figure out whether your ...

Re: Padres/Pitch Clock/Affecting batters?

The pitch clock adjustments have been made.
What I dislike are the new rules about pickoffs.
If a pitcher wants to go over there four or five or twenty times to keep a runner close, that only makes.the game more interesting IMHO.

Oh, and SIGN TIM RAINES!

Re: How do you decide where to fish?

I have a creek bag ready to go for when an afternoon opportunity presents itself....or if a planned trip unravels. Not a good option a few days after any rain.
With a day off work and time to plan:
Check tides.
Good in the a.m.? Less wind in the mornings for tubing on the big bay.
Good p.m. tides ...

Markdowns at the happiest place on earth...

...meaning the Santee Walmart. The 4 inch Luck E Strike curltail worms that are usually $1.57 are now 75 cents a pack. Pink, purple, black, and tequila sunrise. There are a few 6 inch worms as well.

I grabbed a few packs for spotted bass in the bays.

Re: New Loveland Updates

The buckets of smaller fish that have been put into Loveland will spawn next year (if they aren't already getting busy). Their success depends on whether the water district screws around with the water level next spring and summer. "Genetics" aren't needed; with warm water, consistent water levels ...

The guy swore he was gonna release the overlimit, but the warden rolled up on him when he got distracted by spotted bay bass.

Re: Stuff Your Hear at City Park Ponds

I'll start.

1. "Are you fishing?"

2. "Are there actually fish in there?"

3. "Do you eat them?" "Why don't you eat them?"

4. "Can I have it then since you're throwing them back?"

5. "Did you catch that?! (While pointing at my swimbait)

Re: Soft Plastics Colors and Combos

Just tossing this out...
A 3 inch Bass Assassin in Silver Phantom Salt & Pepper (flylined on a 1/0 EWG hook) catches more creek bass for me than any other lure. It doesn't match the color or shape of the baitfish in our local creeks...but it works great
Not so great when I venture out on a local ...
