Upper bay last weekend. Got one of these...
Five of these....
One of these...
A couple of the fish were on grubs, but most on ScorcherZ.
Rigging up the night before, spent a few minutes making a beautiful bait...the leadhead had a brown back and white belly.
Added a clear tube body, then used a spike it pen to give it a blue back an chartreuse sides. a work of art.
Don't believe me?
take another look at the calico...
And the spotty from the previous pic.......which hit the bait, tore off most of the tube....didn't stick...but came back to hammer the nearly naked leadhead. Gotta love the angry spotty energy....
Fished with Scott, and midway through the session we were about even on numbers. But he ended up with twice as many bass by the end of the day, focusing his own big jig energy on the fish. And he also got towed around by a bat ray for a while....
upper bay last Sunday...nothing epic, but fun...

Yeah...I was wiggling the lure in her mouth tryna get the 'fin up' pose but she wouldn't go. After all the South Bay dinks over the winter it was nice to get bass that are shaped like bass. And everything I caught last weekend was about that size....not.
