5/27- SD River

Talked to a buddy last night and he said the fishing at the river sucks lately, but stubborn me wanted to give it a try. Arrived kind of late morning and did not see one other fishermen. After 2 3/4 hours of not one bite, I can see why. Tried everything from jerk to crank baits, then even to ...

Re: 5/27- SD River

Junebug craw always gets one or two there for ya usually a nice one maybe lack of rain didn’t flushed it out toxicity must b really high and oxygen low my guess what a bummer

It was very tough at the river and to think I never really used any type of bait that was in the Junebug color until ...

Re: Surprise catch at the Murr 5/27

Very nice Crappie!!!! Congratulations!
I think I fished Murray for close to 30 years before I caught a Crappie on a small spoon while fishing for bass in deep water vertical jigging. And it wasn’t till probably about five years ago that I caught a handful more. Always a big surprise when I did and I ...

Re: Off the bank

Nice job out there and from the shore!
I bet that was a lot of fun. It brought back a lot of memories when I used to shore pound the lake. Thanks for sharing (fixed the pics) and look forward to see more posts from you.
Tight lines :-)

Re: Bank fishing for bass

Lake, Jennings and Lake Poway are two SD County lakes that come to mind and have lots of shoreline you could access for bass fishing.
The obvious lake that I would suggest would be Lake Murray as it has also lots of shoreline for bass fishing. It probably is the easiest to fish from shore. Also all ...

5/30- Murray Laugher

Been about a week and a half since my last trip to Murray which was fun and topped off with a 5.50 lb bass. Always pretty excited to be back on the water at Murray, but something seemed strange. Scouting around there was literally no busters anywhere. I think I only saw one but the lake surface was ...

Re: 5/30- Murray Laugher

Murray is hard to figure out at times.
You can go at times and catch a few nice
healthy bass in the mix, or just catch clones
all day. Friday was just a dink and micro bass day, but far better than a really tough day there
where nothing much at all is biting. I stop by the lake often and talk to ...

6/4-Quick Shore session(very rare)

Heading out to run errands yesterday morning, I took one rod and a ziplock of a few assorted baits and thought I would stop by Santee Lakes for an hour or so since I would be out in that area. Heck, why not?
Somehow I changed my mind and just headed to the SD River to rough it(ha ha) and toss a few ...

Re: 6/4-Quick Shore session(very rare)

Last time I saw you post about a rare shore outing, you stuck a 9ish pounder on a black Hud at Murray. No 9 pounder this time, but still got one=D

It was a nice reality check. I felt positive and really wanted to catch a few healthy bass from shore, but did not happen and just need to be ...

6/7-Return to D & K Lake

Ventured more than a few miles from my house to the lake of Donald and Kiefer this morning. Greeted of course by Mcfish
and then later met up with Fisheromen . Headed over to an area which I quickly labeled "McFish Point" since he does seem to fish there often. Brought my lighter kayak(roughing it ...

Re: The Lakes

That's excellent. Does anyone know if they will restore Wednesday access at Barrett, ticketmaster had no tickets for Wednesday. They also raised the prices.

That's not good news......but at least you have Otay, Hodges and Murray as an option. Not as fun as Barrett, but at least something.
Don't ...

Re: Murray from shore 6-11/12

Nice job out there …and from shore.
Just picked up a handful of dinks this morning as I threw everything but the kitchen sink at them and the bass were really finicky
seeing that they have tens of thousands of shad to eat instead of a lure.
Tight lines, always buddy :-)

6/16-Miramar Magic

Needed to try something different and headed up to Lake Miramar with my kayak this morning. It was foggy for a bit and it may be a little soon for topwater as I talked to a local who seems to be there almost every time I go there.
I did get a bass on a small jerkbait, but after a while of trying ...
