Re: 6/16-Miramar Magic
Wow, what a story! I guess we will all wonder what broke you off. Deadsticking the Senko. Seen it work for others, I have never tried it.
Those are some nice looking chucks.
Something hit it on the fall or very close to the bottom as I was casting into deep water as my line never got slack.
I ...

Re: 6/16-Miramar Magic
I remember two years ago I went up on a Saturday just to look at the water level and knew I could launch my kayak. Then on Monday, I drove up to the lake and the water came down a lot, but there was still about 10 feet or more before the end of the drop off of the ramp, so I launched my kayak.
Then ...

Re: 6/16-Miramar Magic
Thanks for the heads up on Miramar Vinny.
Went up there today and ended up with 20+ bass. Nothing big but a few good chunks mixed in. Water was way high so no problem launching.
Sweet!!!
It’s a fun lake. I remember my father and me fishing it almost every weekend many many many decades ago ...

6/20-Quick SD River session
Had not planned to go fishing today so I ate breakfast and took care of just a few things around the house and then ended up in the garage. I always end up messing around with some fishing gear when I am in there and put some new braid on one of my reels. Suddenly I decided to take a late morning ...

Re: Otay sat 6/21
Thanks for sharing. The first pic looks like you were fishing in February… ha ha Just kidding!
Anyway glad you could hook up some bass. Better than doing yardwork like I did today. Tight lines always buddy.

Re: Barrett Bonanza June 21 Report
Back from Minnesota and right over to Barrett.
That’s quite a change in scenery, but catching bass is all what matters. Nice job to you and Max!

6/23- SD River(Almost "Deja vu")
Returned to the SD River this morning after landing 2 bass on 3 bites 3 days ago. It was almost "Deja vu" only this time I got 4 bites and landed 3 bass. Started by catching a tiny bass like last time, then landed one slightly bigger and then one slightly bigger than the last one. None were what ...

Re: 6/23- SD River(Almost "Deja vu")
Maybe getting out there is why you always catch fish as opposed to occasional anglers like myself. Always like your entertaining reports.
It looks like you did quite well on your occasional trip to Minnesota and your recent Barrett trip and know you will have great trip the next lake you hit ...

Re: First ever!
Great report glad you’re having fun on vacation and back on the water again. Congratulations on your first Smallie! I bet that was exciting. It must be pretty peaceful fishing early in the morning like that and getting off the water before you melt.

6/26-Murray
Spent a lot of time throwing onto bass swirling around the surface feeding almost exclusively on small shad. Still exciting but then you start seeing that 90% of them are very small 8-12" bass. Every once in a while maybe a 2lb bass would jump but even then that was rare, but that is what keeps you ...

Re: 6/26-Murray
Nice angling as usual. What is that craw bait? Looks enticing.
It is a Yamamoto Psycho Dad craw bait. It is pretty soft and I like the way they made the claws.
What also is cool is on the underside there is a little hole there where you can put the tip
of your hook so it is more weedless.

Re: 6/26-Murray
I fished yesterday for 7, all small. First time on that lake in about 5+ years. I watched a boat dropping brush weighted tree limbs on one of the points. Don’t know who is doing it but I don’t think it will improve the fishing

Re: Murray dinks and clones 6/30
First day back from vacay. Hit Murray as the gate opened. Caught perhaps a dozen but all were of the smaller dinks and clones variety. About half of them were topwater, and the rest all came courtesy of small crankbaits.
Like I said, nothing big, but it felt great to get back on San Diego water ...
