Torrance Beach Corbina

Post by Mike M »

I tossed a soft shell at low tide into the 1st trough. It sat a while before this 20" corbina found it.

Very MacGyver Sand Crab Trap. The water temperature seems to be hovering above 60, 62 in the afternoon on the beach today. Those Corbina are starting to fatten up, soon the Grunion runs. Then they get really fat. Should be a good year as the 5 year old class fish begin to show up shallow and hungry. Hopefully a year of person bests for many Surf fishermen.

Soft shells are money, even in winter if you can find them. Nicely done !
