Success at Sutherland

Post by Fisheromen »

Fair to count this as clickbait. I have heard rumors of success at Sutherland but personally, I have none to report. First one on the water and fished 6 hours without a bite! Saw one fellow catch a fish. A better man!

"It is no more" because you had "better" things to do! Work around the house can always wait!

I saved a lot of gas and aggravation this year as I was almost there every Friday with my kayak enjoying some fun bass fishing in previous years. My last trip there was in the beginning of May and I threw everything and the kitchen sink that normally works and it resulted in only one bass. Nothing seems to be improving via some of the locals and others I have talked to.
Very sad…….. maybe they will start biting next week? …but imagine many guys probably won’t be holding their breath for that to happen.

I have not been back there in about 2 months. Definitely was a weekly thing in years past. Super unfortunate…

I’m having the exactly same problem at my local Lake. Was so good last year I bought a yearly pass, and then maybe 4 Bass all Spring. I quit going and now head South to Newport Harbor for my Bass fix.

I can really only think of one lake that is fishing close to normal down here..the rest are tough to almost impossible! I think the fish would like some consistent water levels. Hopefully the City will just leave the lakes alone this summer and let everything stabilize...fat chance I imagine!

I sure miss some of the great years that we had at Sutherland. There were great years when the lake was full and great years when the lake was way down. The last 3 or 4 years were less than stellar, but I think that all the lakes suffered to some degree over the last few years. Is it all because of the drought, or just in a cyclical decline? Who can say..... :?

Our lakes have declined because, well, some people just suck at being humans

Oh man Paul..I thought "Hip Hip Hooray" and it's about time. But, then I read your post. :( I stopped going to Sutherland in March. Still hoping the water level will come down and the fish will start chewing. Thanks of the update. I won't waste time heading over there. Gonna hit San V tomorrow(Monday).
