Lake Barrett will be opening in May(May 3rd, I believe?)

Like most, had no luck with the site for a bit, and just by luck today, I searched SDFISH, and there it was!!

Excellent! we should have a "fishing in other locales" sub forum for people who went fishing on vacation to other regions and states, and ex-patriots who would still like to actively participate in the fishing report side of the forum. :)
TaBASSco - That would be nice to have a sub-forum for ...

I was up in La Jolla around Bird Rock, when a scuba guy came walking out of the water with an orange fish on the end of his spear..I asked him if he knew what it was and he said "yep, a red snapper! I said "nope, a garibaldi, the state fish and it's protected..might cost you $500." He threw it back ...

Update as of 26 June 2023 - The pond has lots of large bluegills!
After a couple of weeks of fishing the pond, there is an abundance of bluegills 8 to 10 inches. Also, with the water level slightly down (2 feet), there are fathead minnows, and the bass are still that 8 to 12 inches. I've started ...

doesn't matter if it was ...

Re: Fishing up here in cowboyland
TaBASSco,
Some ramblings in response to your post.
Some history:
I am a 20+ year ago transplant from NYS residing in San Diego County.
Back "home," where I cut my fishing teeth, we had natural glacial lakes and multi-species river systems.
Moved to SoCal and pretty soon figured out a few things ...

Re: Fishing up here in cowboyland
Small Jigs fished along the Rocks on the East side of the Lake by the Dam will net you plenty of Smallmouth. The Green River, right below the Dam is some of the best Float Fishing in the Nation.
