Re: Fishing up here in cowboyland

I forwarded a link to my brother. who lives in Rock Springs. You met him in the "Grumpy Old Men" posts in the old SDFish. He fishes Flaming Gorge and has a cabin on a lake near Pinedale, Fremont Lake I think. He is going to be jealous as he is more or less confined to the lawn chair setup these days ...

Re: What fish is this?

Just giving you an attaboy for schooling a fish biologist who probably knows more than everyone on here combined.

Plus, I’d miss the free entertainment

Re: Autumn fishing on the high prairie 2023

Well done! Beautiful fish. Forbidding country. Do you have a snowmobile yet?

Edit: Forbidding country but environmentally fragile. My brother showed me some ruts that were made by pioneers as they traveled the Oregon Trail. Much of the landscape up there has been marred by surface mining.

Re: SAN DIEGO SHOCKED!: BASS ANGLER BAGS SALMON IN SAN DIEGO RIVER

You guys can see a lot of comments already made in my SD River post about this fish.
https://www.sdfish.org/viewtopic.php?t=1280
Just scroll down in my post.

The original story in WON said he had a 20 minute span to fish and after photos he released it
back in the river.

Here are a couple pics ...

Re: End of year in a frozen land.

Right below the dam, the Green River is spectacular fishing. My only regret is not using heavier line. Lost some monsters. Still landed over 100 Rainbow/Browns on a 6 hour drift in a float tube.

Re: California Boater Card

Got mine about a year ago.

Nice gentleman at our local boat ramp handed me the pamphlet which contained the test. I took it, sent the $10, and had my temp card in 10 days and my permanent card in about a month.

I'm now seeing companies charging quite a bit for 'classes', for something that is ...

Re: Missing the Southern Cal weather - sorta?

I have great fishing up here in Wyoming too.....if you like trout. I do like trout and have caught 9 different species (if you count grayling and hybrids), but I still miss my SD county bassies, as well as the pan fishing. And of course, the weather back home in the winter time.
