Lunch hour spottie

Post by kastmaster »

Caught on a floating jerkbait I found years ago and recently relocated. All the paint was flaked off, so it looked like a translucent-whitish fish carcass by the time I fished it. Pay no mind to fancy paint jobs on jerkbaits! Lost the lure about 6 casts after catching this guy, which inspired me to order twenty jerkbaits for a total of $16 off Temu today! Maybe I'll sandpaper off the paint jobs!

Clear baits work too, they just don't sell well to fishermen.

Let me know how those jerkbaits work! Last time I ordered from those types of sites, the bait looked great, but the tuning, the hardware, etc was a POS. Seems like after every fish, the jerkbait jerkin' was all jerked up.

I will definitely report back on their quality. This guy in Malibu does well with 98 cent Luckcraft clones purchased from Alibaba.

I am curious to know how they work as well. It may look good on screen but the hooks will probably bend or break and the quality of the material used will be much cheaper causing them to distort and lose action but hey, sometimes you never know

I know during the ahem, tariff dispute, China was implying that in order to bypass the tariffs, they can purchase the exact same products directly from China since that's where most of these manufacturers get their lures/shoes/designer bags/electronics from. At this rate, even "JDM" lures will start doing the ole "Japan Design, but Made in China" thing that I'm seeing more and more. I'm surprised Megabass hasn't moved production to China.

While I know that we may pay extra for the good hardware and what not, we're also paying for these big brand manufacturer's marketing budget and for the name on the front of the package.

That's why I was always curious about baits that you find on the cheap on the Ali Baba-type sites.
