Re: Loveland Call to Action. Next Wednesday May 17
It probably has something to do with some of the director's obsession with wanting to cannibalize Loveland for a sand mining project by dredging at Sweetwater Reservoir. It seems like that. As far as I go this thread is to promote the meeting.

Re: New Loveland Updates
We had a good meeting today with Congressman Issa's Representative and State Senator Jones' District Director.
There was a good mix of volunteers who had a good grip on the reasons the operation of the lake should be the same as it was on the grand opening day of the 1996 relocated fishing program ...

Meanwhile, up north in trout land.....
The winter wasn't to brutal up here on the prairie, and the lakes and rivers finally thawed out. I have been fishing fairly often, along with my trusty angling partner Kim. Together, we have been putting the hurt on a number of various trout up on Flaming Gorge and few other spots. I also fish ...

Re: Three little bass
As of 2 weeks ago, the launch ramp was completely under water and the road at the top of the ramp was under water in places. The dirt road north of the ramp is now mostly fish habitat. They're sending alot of water to San V but it was refilling faster than it was emptying. They've increased the rate ...

Still tough out on Lake Donald and Kiefer..
I got to the lake at sunrise, expecting to see the regulars out on the water already...but no, I was alone. That tells you how tough the fishing is and the high water has made launching and parking a real challenge. I keep expecting the lake to go off every week, but it's still not happening! I ...

San Vicente May 6
I'm new to the whole bass fishing thing so this was my first time on the water trying to catch some largies.
Thanks to VinnyBass who was kind enough to provide me with some detailed advice I felt like I knew what I was doing. Not a lot of action though but we've caught a few between myself and the ...

Sweets again 5/6
When back again same pattern. Fishing was very slow. Started off by catching a carp yay!
Carp for me is usually some bad luck so I moved to a different spot as far away as I could get from any visible carp action.
Still very slow as far as the bass action was concerned but the patience paid off and ...

May 9- Lake Miramar
Knowing that 15 north morning traffic on a weekday gets crazy and going south in the late afternoon a lot worse, I decided to head up to Lake Miramar and put in a little fishing time in my kayak. Knowing that I need to make the most of my time on the water I quickly headed across the lake.

Re: May 9- Lake Miramar
Is the water visibility still crap or did it clean up a little?
It was overcast for a long while and hard to tell. And also because the water is high, it is deeper water along the tulles
and I didn't pay much attention. In the past if you cruised by the tulles you could see the bottom a little ...

Hodges
Will Hodges ever reopen to shoreline, tube, and kayak fishing like they promised or is the city faking us out again? I doubt it will ever happen again in our lifetime. Can’t believe how much they expect fishermen to pay to use their lakes but other recreation at the lake is free. They should charge a ...

Wrong Again!
I said last week that it seemed the bite at Sutherland was stirring. That judgment was premature! The bite, it seems, is again cold as ice. At least it appears that way to me and a couple of friends who will remain nameless unless they choose to chime in. Between us we caught 4 fish. Overcast early ...

San Veeeeee 5/14
Rented a boat at San V today and a fellow SDFisher joined me for the morning. Some froggy looking water but no bites on either the frog or the buzzbait. Water is pea green soup from the grass scum - not just the surface, it’s throughout the water column in places.

San V 5/14
Hit San V avoiding the tournaments at El Cap all weekend. 21 caught and released before 10am. Was sunny and warm as we left. Small plastics split shot were the ticket for us.

FYI.....for any questions regarding the City lakes call Bryan Norris @ 619.668.2014. Please remember to be respectful. Ever since the "old school" left or retired(Jim Brown, Larry Botroff, Hugh Marx, etc) the city lakes programs have gone to s..t! It has long been felt by the City Council members ...

San V Saturday 5-20-23
Hit up San V on Saturday. After being Skunked at Sutherland for the month of March and the beginning of April, I was happy to finally have a decent day at San Vicente. I would have gone on Monday to avoid the skiers, tubers, etc. But, I have a dentist appointment this Monday, so I decided to brave ...

Going to be Combat Fishing for a few weeks. The Crappie will be deep now. Quality over quantity is a high probability as all the fish have been forced to live in a smaller area. Big chows on Small. CPR the big Girls to maintain their genetics. Pull out all the Shad sucking Carp you can. More food ...
