Re: New to Fishing/San Diego
If you don't get seasick on a smaller boat, the bluefin tuna will be showing up in our local waters within the next 3-5 weeks hopefully and I wouldn't mind having someone else tag along and split gas. All my other friends have boats so we communicate back and forth on biting fish positions if it's ...

Re: Still tough out on Lake Donald and Kiefer..

Made some drill paddles for myself but don’t need an extra. If anyone is interested I’ll sell it for $30:

Re: Maks
Whenever I make bait on my boat I'll start at MB jetty but if that doesn't produce my go to is always Crystal pier right next to it. 98% of the time it produces but lately with the thick red tide it may be tough

Re: Loveland Call to Action. Next Wednesday May 17
I still don't understand why they would drain Loveland regardless of fishing or not. Was it an upkeep problem or something because that really makes no sense. We live in a desert and instead of keeping our reserves we just get rid of it.. Are the directors in charge of this brain dead ass clowns?

Re: New to Fishing/San Diego
This is open for anybody that wants to go. I'll be making a little more frequent trips inshore and offshore now that the water is warming up and the fish finish spawning.

Re: Wrong Again!
When o when will that lake turn back on. Glad to know the shad were spawning, sounds like a spinnerbait will start to work again early in the morning. At least you caught something, no fun getting skunked. I went twice last month and only got two bites, one of which was in the parking lot.

Re: San Veeeeee 5/14
Algae in the water is pretty noticeable year round but when the water heats up it blooms and creates a 1-3 foot deep blanket on the surface

[mod], that is a [mod] monster. Unfortunately it probably died but damn! You weren't fishing for bass with a 2lb setup on hand.

Re: Anyone have any hints on Diamond Valley Lake?
They have some big striper in there that you can target on heavier gear although they're usually more keyed in on eating those trout. You can try trolling big trout looking rapalas or even bring frozen bait to try for catfish and or striper (forgot what the striper like; anchovies?) if you only have ...

Re: Hodges
That's weird though.. the dam has been in terrible shape for over a decade and they even thought it was going to break before the last El Nino when the water was dumping over the spillway. It's starting to sound like there isn't any really good investigative work being done.. then again, the people ...

40 fish days are still very possible. 20 fish days are easy tehre right now. Gonna be goooood
It might not be that way seeing how much they have raised and lowered the water levels so drastically this past year. That fluctuation of water really puts a strain on those fish. If you have been to ...

Re: Hodges reopner
I started at about 6:30am and left at 8:30am and ended up with 6 from the bank. 4 were the smaller 1-2lb like you caught then I got a spawned out lethargic 7-8lber and then a 5lber that was healthy but I had to bail for work.

Sweet! I fished for only 1:30 from the shore at Del dios from about 12-1:30, only got one that could have been 6lbs or so but was disgustingly skinny. What did you get yours on?
I caught both bigger fish on a 7" roboworm texas rig and all the small fish on the senko in the sticks.
That bigger ...

Re: Night Time Lures
Day or night, I will use a fish trap with a 1/2oz or 3/4 oz jig head. Now you can also use the jig heads with the underspin on them with a green/glow in the dark fish trap that tends to work pretty good. Even running a crankbait works too as long as you don't bury it in the eel grass
