Mike Long
Mike Long
On KUSI the weatherman / comedian posts pictures around the county and twice now on consecutive nights Mike Long has posted pictures / don't know for sure if it's the Mike Long from the past. Has anyone noticed / the last picture was a lake scene and the weatherman commented on the greenery and stated it was in Ramona.

From a source in Ramona, I guess he takes pictures of birds and other animals mostly.

Re: Mike Long
You might laugh, but birding is a highly competitive pastime and there is some amount of fame and fortune for the top birders and their pics and species observed. Would it surprise anyone if he fudges just a bit here and there?!Mcfish wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 6:34 pm Same guy! He's a regular on Ramona wildlife websites! Re: Mike Long
My buddy is really involved into it, and I could see how much it plays part of his life. He knows about every bird and takes pretty amazing photos and tells me about the different groups that go out to different lakes and places to observe different species of birds. I try to make him laugh when I just say a couple ducks were near me when I was fishing.JWall wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 9:37 pmYou might laugh, but birding is a highly competitive pastime and there is some amount of fame and fortune for the top birders and their pics and species observed. Or tell him say some shad birds(that is what me
and my buddy always call them) were diving on
the shad. Of course he explains what the actual
bird is. Hopefully birds are not getting snagged.

Re: Mike Long
Birding and photos are not much more different than trophy hunting for bass or animals. Scratches the same itch.

You already schooled me on bass fishing at the lake. ……now you have to go educate me on birds!!!Mcfish wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 8:07 amThose are Western Grebes and Cormorants....shad birds...hahahaha!VinnyBass wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 5:48 amMy buddy is really involved into it, and I could see how much it plays part of his life.
