Hodges Rewards me

Was on the lake heading to the Del Dios arm by 5;30 am . Didnt have much action picked up a couple clone fish but nothing to write home about. I threw shad raps, micro jigs, spinner baits and sencos > everyone i talked too was saying it had slowed down. About 9;30 I put on a finesse football jig on ...

7/10 San V....Yes, San V

Recently after moving lots of junk around in my garage( while getting rid of junk also), my boat sat there looking like a storage unit. There was junk beside it, under it and on it.,,,it was crazy! So I went a little crazy on Sunday afternoon and moved everything around so that I could actually pull ...

San V and friends...

Bass and friends..what more can you ask for? I started the day by running into Ramona Angler at the docks, and sharing the latest tips and San V info. I got on the water around 6:00 and proceeded to lose a nice fish right off the bat! The bite seemed a little tougher than the last couple weeks, but ...

7/12- Very Quick Murray session

With excessive heat warnings, I decided to go over to Murray this morning before the heat arrives. I am so used to fishing out of a kayak or boat with lots of tackle but I did not want to carry a lot so I gathered a small assortment of reaction baits and off I went. I decided to just fish off the ...

Hodges was Hot (and the weather, too)

Usually I hit up Hodges in the mornings, but today I had a couple hours to spare, and so I decided to head out at 2:30pm – and boy was it HOT, and WINDY. I totally forgot the wind picks up big time in the afternoon. And it's probably why I only saw a couple kayaks and a float tube in the ...

8/22- Miramar A.M. Bass Frenzy

Cheating on a person is bad and if going behind Lake Murray's back to fish Lake Miramar is bad....I am guilty. Headed up to Miramar once again with my kayak. It has been so much fun fishing up there and just had to go back. Had a little late start as I did not get on the water till almost 7am and no ...

Re: Dixon

CKRZ,

As an Escondido resident, Lake Dixon has been my "home lake" for over 2-decades.
I am strictly a bass fisherman from shore and can only speak to this species.
I fish Dixon no less than once per week.
If you fish Dixon for bass, it's hard to beat a drop-shotted finesses worm rigged weedless ...

Lake Dixon Thursday

Had my weekly opportunity to shore fish from 4-6PM today.
Got 2.
Both drop shots.
The best part for me was I finally caught something on other than a RoboWorm or Senko.
Got one on a drop-shotted Yamamota pumpkin Kreature bait hooked once through near the nose.
I threw this one a couple times ...

Ultralight fishing at Otay

Today was ultralight day with a seven and a half foot Diawa Presso, and 1/16th oz ball head jigs. I paired the tiny jig heads with 2.5 inch mini swimbaits. I caught 6 nice bass in the the 2-3 pound range and a Crappie. So much fun on ultralight gear. So much so I am thinking of springing for a ...

Re: Best Huddleston/ big bass lake in SD

There definitely aren't as many 8lb+ bass as there was back in the 70s-90s! San V use to have them..then they stopped stocking trout! Rare to run into one these days

Anglers also killed 30-35% of the harvestable bass population annually back then...something else much more influential on bass ...

2/25 Otay & 2/26 Murray

Well left my house late Sunday morning and took my kayak down to Otay. Didn't arrive till 8:45, but did not matter much as
I mostly wanted to just get my PA 12 back in the water again. I have not taken it out since late November. Anyway....it was
an easy launch as I parked right next to the water. I ...

3/18-Calm before the Storm

I wanted to fish this morning and even with the threat of severe thundershowers, I figured a few hours is better than nothing,
Loaded my kayak on the truck and didn't bring much tackle but had rain pants and jacket packed just in case. When I got to
the San Diego river is was clam and actually ...

Murray report 3/28

Most of you know I fish Murray 3-4 days per week. I am retired and I go there after dropping the kids off at school. I fish until it's time to pick them up and head home.

I've been averaging 7 fish per day almost exclusively BFS fishing. The most productive bait has been a tiny green pumpkin Brush ...

San V 3/30 Father/ son outing

My son came into town for the Easter weekend so we headed out into a rainy morning to see what we could find. Only three boats out there that I know of.

Headed to the scene of the crime of my last trip, Barona of course. Started the day out with a solid 3.7 on my third cast with a Senko. Picked up ...

Finally some time off from tournaments....

I finally got some time off from fishing these kayak tournaments up here in Northern California..... I was able to find and dial in a pretty speical bite on my now Home pond. Weightless 5" Shad color senko dead sticking on the tops of boulders. Tops of the boulders would be in about 20ft. I found a ...

I love reading and looking at posts from all the forum members here!
I rarely post but I thought this was worthy and also to celebrate my Dad who recently passed!
He loved to see pictures of the fish I caught from salt or fresh waters!
I can't send him ...

Otay May 27

Otherwise known as I’m ready for this May weather to go away. Arrived just after the gate opened and second to launch. Except we didn’t. It was near white capping straight from the east and darn chilly. Gave it 30 minutes and headed out. First stops were all along the eastern wind protected side of ...

Murray and Hodges

16 bass between Hodges on Wed. and Murray on Fri. all on this new little crankbait I just got that's about the size of my thumb. It's an Evergreen PC-5 in Baby Bluegill color. Dives quickly to 10 feet and runs perfectly true out of the box. It's a bit pricey at $15, but I can't argue with the ...

Hodges 6/3oWas outW

Was out at Hodges early Sunday morning to test out my newly refurbished Pontoon and to see what I could catch. I had a stellar day catching over a dozen bass. I wanted to see if my battery would hold up all the way to the dam and lucky for me it did because I was throwing an Evergreen Pc5 and most ...
