3/24 Live by the Sword, Die by the.....

Post by VinnyBass »

Despite a pretty dang good fishing trip to Murray recently, the bass this morning put on the brakes or should I say slammed on the brakes. I stubbornly stuck to using all sorts of reaction baits and the bass just were not cooperating. It reminded me of that old saying.... "Live by the sword, die by the sword." Was only able to convince 3 bass to take my
offerings. Despite one of them being 4lb's on the button, it was a tough morning.
Oh yeah, there was one other highlight...... @Mcfish came all the way down from
Ramona to join in on the fun. :-)

Nope….. I probably should have. Caught a lot
of nice bass last year with that color. I wish you could have reminded me before I went fishing ..ha ha :-)

Crazy day at the Murr! Weather felt like summer, water temp said spring, and the bite was part fall, mixed with some prespawn and post spawn! I watched Vinny get a nice 4lber..and then I proceeded to lose a nice 4 on the jump and soon after had a larger fish come unbuttoned..aaarrgghhhhhh! I set my all time record for snagging shad, hooked 20 plus shad while working a spoon off the bottom, it seemed like every other cast! Weird day..ended up with 4 clones to the net and bummed about farming the 2 nice fish! It's always fun fishing a lake with Vinny out there, makes a tough day easier to take!

Hey, it was a lot of fun sharing fishing stories today while the fish were playing hard to get. It was tough watching when those nice sized bass came unbuttoned for you. You definitely are the “Shad Master King” as I’ve never seen so many shad get caught(snagged actually) by one person in one fishing trip.
It might be a California record… ha ha

Still a great day fishing is better than a day doing chores and such.
How big were the shad you were hooking up with?

I know that you and many others know how that saying was derived, but since we can’t talk about religion, we will have to leave it at that. :-)
