2/10-Murray again

Post by VinnyBass »

With rain in the forecast and things I need to do around the house, I figured I better get some fishing in today otherwise I will have to wait till next week. Chatted with Dannicus in the parking lot before launching and told him I want to try some different baits in deep water today. Then it was great to meet @Dfishin while I was launching my boat. Always fun to meet fellow sdfish folks. I started trying all types of "Hover baits" and "Search-type baits" and after no interest at all from the bass below, I went back to the winter basics: ice jigs, spoons and tried a few different type of blade baits. Finally got my first bass right before 10a.m. Then after a stretch of nothing, I started picking up bass just after 11a.m. It was funny because last week, the same thing happened as the bass suddenly were more active. I only wish the healthier ones were today. Anyway, I managed to pick up 9 bass with most of them being very small. Despite having to deal with a cold wind, I still had fun getting back out on the water and someone told me a bass is a bass no matter how small it is...(Think McFish told me that..ha ha)
Counting the days till spring. Tight lines everyone. :-)

Good to meet the guy behind the fish. Watched you and Dannicus do what you do. I held on to a couple to try out my camera button.

You guys did better than me, I was only able to manage a couple of clones. It was great to see you both out there.

You are now a fixture that every time I go to Lake Murray, I look for you. A month away Dan and lots of good things will be happening at Murray. Can hardly wait!
