He came all the way to see me (probably more to see the grand kids), and I took him to fish the surf. He has been a fresh water fisherman for decades but not the surf.
So I setup the gear and made a cast to show him how to do it. The next I knew, he was rocking this babe:
Took a measure. It is almost as big as my PB. I guess he figured it out just like that.
He also caught a kelp fish, which was not worth mentioning given this trophy bass. I caught a sargo and a sheep. Neither at that weight class but I think the sheep is decent.
I have a feeling that soon enough he will be telling me what I am doing wrong in surf fishing...

Excellent session, that's a tank of a calico, shore-based sheepshead is always amazing too!
