Famine to Feast Otay 7/24
Well El Cap may have been a grind yesterday, but Otay was amazing today! I kinda lost count a little bit but my final total was somewhere between 50-60 bass and 1 Bluegill. Most of the bass were topwater with 15 or so coming as a combination of cranks, jerks and even a few worms.
It was awesome to finally meet @otaymichael out on the water. We had a lot of fun throwing at a plethora of busting bass. All in all the best fishing day I've had in recent memory.

100%, the most fun fishing of this entire year so far for me has been the topwater bite at Otay. Floating in the middle of a massive baitball with fish busting all around and having them eat my topwater as soon as it hit the water. I hope that keeps going for awhile..Mcfish wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 8:00 am Excellent day! When Otay topwater is happening..it's happening!

Nice meeting you and fun fishing next to you for an hour or so. Thanks for the small popper lure. I caught a lot on it.
Also got the jerk bait working and the bootleg frog got in on the Action too.
Nice running in the double digit Kevin also. We were fishing Buster by the boat dock for an hour before anybody joined us. When I left to run to the back of Harvey’s, there was 13 boats around the ramp catching them. Awesome day.

Yeah at some point I looked up and was the only float tube surrounded by a dozen bass boats. You're very welcome for the lure. I'm glad it worked for you! I love those little Lucky Craft poppers.

I am thinking about returning to Murray this morning for a few hours ... Fishing or vegging out on the Olympics? Decisions, decisions. Man retirement is tough.
