Re: How not to fish Murray
The $ is the biggest bummer. Heard it’s free at night
I don’t even like to keep track of how much money I’ve spent just fishing Lake Murray. Being a senior, it used to be quite a deal and then they jacked us the other year. Just for example…..even in my kayak, it used to be four dollars for a ...

Re: Lake Poway?
I don’t think it’s that easy, there would be a long line if it were.
If snagging 18lbers were easy wouldn’t there be a crowd.
Come on, why turn on your partner. Then close your forum and hide.
It’s gives people something to talk about, because there not catching big fish.
I haven’t seen a 15lber ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH
Super big Barrett bass for sure.
Original report the fish was neither measured nor weighed so not sure where the "tipped the scale at 11.96lbs" came from.
Not trying to take away the large and beautiful catch but.......a double digit bass from Barrett is super rare and - I would put this fish ...

Beautiful fish,
That looks like a Norman Rockwell picture.
You have a memory for life, who cares what it weighted, it’s a gift.
Enjoy the moment young man. Great job.

Re: Tues 8/27
Well the pattern changed. I went back on Thursday and couldn't buy a jig bite of any kind lol. I did pick up a couple out deep on a 5" paddle tail fished on a Damiki jig head. Basically in 20-30 feed of water bouncing/hopping it along the bottom. I really need to learn how to fish a swim jig. I fish ...

Re: 9/26-Where else…but Murray
It’s hit me….another reason, where I live, everyone is on Ca “fair” plan for fire insurance. In the last two years it has gone from $700 to $3500. My neighbor got hit for 8k and my buddy down the road 12k just for basic home coverage per year. Absolutely wild. It has definitely affected my fishing ...

Re: 9/30-Cool it Vinny
That’s a good idea… thank you. I remember just using a little bit heavier swivels to get the flukes down, but that sounds a lot better.camobass wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 12:38 pm Double fluke rig is awesome. Nail weighting the far fluke can help if you want to get it down.

El Cap 10/12
Back at the Cap yesterday. Day started off on the wrong foot with a dead cranking battery. Ran back home and after an hour or so on the charger, headed back to see if I could salvage the day.
Tough sledding all day long but I was also trying to force feed them the swim jig and a crankbait. Got one ...

Re: Lake Murray News 11/14
These days my stoutest rod is a Lews custom 7' medium heavy speed stick. I have also have 1 medium, 1 medium light, 1 light, and 1 ultralight. Inevitably I find myself using the 3 lightest rods the most, all of which have Ark Gravity BFS reels on them.

Re: The one that got away 1/9
Oh man I know that feeling. Tis’ better to have hooked and lost then never to have hooked at all. (I guess) Man I’m so sorry to hear that heartbreaker. Bigguns are coming your way again. At least you get to buy a new rod?

Bigger fish moving in. Murray 5/15
After 2 weeks of catching mostly dinks and one pounders, I finally got onto a bite today with better quality fish. 9 total fish all two plus pounds with the best going three and a half.
All in all a pretty fun morning.

Re: Tough couple of days but...
Just a quick thought. I wear a pair of SPF 50 Flyfishing Pants. They are coated with Teflon so they don’t stain, dry quickly, and best of all are cooling and I guess they look enough like Waders that I’ve never been checked.

Re: Lake O'Neill learning
Where’s the pic of the 4lber?
I knew someone would ask...I caught it at my feet on a whopper plopper as I was getting ready to leave for the day and in my haste, I just released it...after it swam off, I even said out loud "no pic, no fish..." oops, sometimes my brain does not function properly ...
