El Cap 10/12

Post by Moose »

Back at the Cap yesterday. Day started off on the wrong foot with a dead cranking battery. Ran back home and after an hour or so on the charger, headed back to see if I could salvage the day.

Tough sledding all day long but I was also trying to force feed them the swim jig and a crankbait. Got one small 6” fish on about my 3rd cast of the day on the crank and missed a couple other bites. Moved to the front of the lake about 11 or so and locked the swimming in my hand. Missed a couple of bites and managed one 2 1/2lbr. There are a lot of good size fish up shallow feeding on the bluegill but I just couldn’t figure out how to get them to go.

Ended the day with 2 caught and 5 or 6 missed bites

Thanks for the update. I went there Sunday with similar results. A number of fish all battling for the title of the smallest bass of the year. Nothing over 10”.
