Re: San Gabriel Mts/ South Fork trout fishing( video)

Nice vid! I think that's the West Fork tho. I don't think there's a South Fork, unless you call the tailwater out of Morris Dam the South Fork, i guess.

Yeah you could be right. Really curious about the conditions for this year. any reports from anyone?

Because the West Fork is a tailwater ...

Re: San V. 11/14

I started bass fishing only using 6# test as I fished clear local ponds, that to this day are hammered by anglers. It wasn't until I started fishing lakes that were not as pressured that I started using 8, 10, 12 pound test, and got into 'power' fishing.

But sometimes, light line is the key.

Re: Lake Murray News 11/14

My local pond just got a trout stocking, and while there aren't too many bass that are big enough to eat trout, they're out there.

The funniest part is that all throughout the year, you have these big swimbait guys chucking their baits, talking about how many 'follows' they got that day. I've ...

Re: Lake Murray News 11/14

Bass eat trout swimbaits before the stocks.

Yeah, but don't you think if you're a self proclaimed "24/7/365 I ONLY FISH SWIMBAITS" person, you'd want to throw swimbaits right after a stock?

Apparently the allure of a truck trout is too much for these guys to put their broomsticks away for the ...

Re: Native Rainbow Trout

I believe there is a stream near Santa Barbara with a tiny population of SoCal Steelheads.

:D

I'd seriously recommend not going to any creeks in SoCal that may have Steelhead. They are federally protected and from what I've seen, you can poach all you want in lakes, but the moment you mess ...

Re: Oniomania

I have to exercise restraint this time of year.

Because I don't wanna be a typical consumer, where my paycheck immediately goes to $hit i don't need, I always have to sit there and ask myself the following:

"Do you NEED it, or do you WANT it?"

So, this year, I used some discount codes to get some ...

Re: Roboworm or Senko?

I think the Senko has a *tad* more versatility than a Robo, so that would be my choice.

Re: Roboworm or Senko?

I fished with a de facto guide one a very pressured lake in SoCal.

I learned 2 new techniques that I would've never thought would work, and they were completely polar opposites, but both using the same bait...a Senko.

Every fished a Senko as a topwater? ;-) You'll be surprised what happens if you ...

Re: Roboworm or Senko?

I am more of a drop shot guy and the Robo is nice for that. It is more durable, more flexible....

I've got a buddy that swears by drop shotting "Skinny" Senkos wacky rigged. He tears them up, and will always have that on deck. I never thought about drop shotting Senkos because of how heavy they ...

Re: 12/13-Bad to Better/SD River

Good fish! Especially after starting the day by emptying your hooks and sinkers and stuff on the garage floor.

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to manage all my gear but have not been able to.

Perhaps I just need to get a bass boat and have all my gear just thrown in there, and that ...

Re: 12/13-Bad to Better/SD River

So, i fish for bass in various methods, and none have allowed me to retain any level of organization.

1. Co-angler on my buddy's boat. There is nothing worse than someone who brings 2 bags, a cooler, 9 rods, etc. on someone else's boat. I have a buddy who no longer will fish with my friend simply ...

SHARING is Caring at Barrett

I was the first boat in Hauser, the glorious sunrise gracing Barrett Lake as it tends to do this time of morning. The peacefulness of the morning quickly subsided the moment I made my FIRST cast. And that's when my trolling motor started smoking ...

San Vee - Happy New Year

The monotony of Monday morning was broken when the phone started buzzing, as my tourney partner made his usual call.

"Hey, I can't fish on Saturday. Can you fish on Friday instead?"

"Look who you're asking here," I responded.

"Don't you ever work? Don't you have a job?"

"Yeah, sure. Where ...
