Keep our Lakes Open
Hey guys, Everydog has been busting his butt to help save our fishing venues for a long time.
He has always gone out of his way doing anything he can possibly do and we should all acknowledge him for his great efforts.
Anyway, this is a critical time that instead of just laying back, we all need ...

Re: Keep our Lakes Open
Good news for the lakes. The city has found funds for the lakes, Joel Anderson’s office sent out emails today.
There were 750 people from the 4 million in the county that contacted Joel Anderson’s office about the lakes closure.
We can do better. 750 is not enough .

Re: Keep our Lakes Open
Yes I applaud Supervisor Anderson and all the fisherman who took the time to sign the petition. Maybe.......just maybe he might consider chiming in on the one day a month lake closure issue? That was just such a stupid decision the City made that caught us all by surprise. Any ideas how we can start ...

Re: Keep our Lakes Open
The thing that I question.....that actually came from a City worker......is that the staff is always at the lakes( in the contract) so why turn down revenue that is so desperately needed to run the lakes? I think the County is the answer to all these problems that the City just does not care about ...

Re: New Loveland Updates
My buddy stocks his lake with the tiger bass from alpine fisheries and they are identical to the Loveland bass- Small mouth and tall/short bodies. I heard the guy from alpine fisheries verified it’s definitely his bass and apparently there was a large, private citizen purchase that matches the ...

Grove Fire
I was fishing Henshaw on Wed when a storm rolled into the valley around noon. Lightning and thunder were going off in the distance and we made our way back towards the car to be safe, but as it approached from the south, the wind blew it east and we were able to keep fishing with lightning strikes ...

Re: Grove Fire
Pretty awesome for you to see it unfold. 25% contained as of now
We had a lightning strike at the end of our dirt road about 25 years ago that started a fire followed by a giant down pour about 20 minutes later that extinguished the fire.

Re: Sutherland
I have fished up there out of my kayak on Fridays, but haven’t returned for a while because the fishing has not been that good this year. McFish and Fisheromen have been up there on Fridays and they both fish out of a tube.

Re: Sutherland
What Vinny said. You can't launch power boats on Friday. Tubes and yaks are fine. Fishing stinks!

How to remove a hook from a gut hooked bass
Every few years we get a few new fishermen on here that could use this knowledge.
Half of the patterns we use to catch Bass involve the bait getting swallowed. A hook is caught in the gut of the bass, making it hard to remove. If you just pull it straight out you’re killing the fish. There’s a ...

Re: How to remove a hook from a gut hooked bass
I learned that from a guide in Upstate NY a few years ago. It works great and is about as easy as shown too.

Re: New Loveland Updates
A long time ago just after getting down to the water I heard some ducks going crazy. It was a pair, chasing a rattler across the cove. It was early spring and water was cold, so the snake climbed up into a bush next to the bank and laid there sprawled out to warm up. Saw two more that day
