Re: 87 acres for saile on Barrett Lake Road

Probably run ya about 15k/a year just for fire insurance from the ca “fair” plan….probably mandatory flood insurance too. Looks like only a few acres of usable land as well

Favorite lure of 2024

A bit early I realize but what is your favorite bait of 2024 so far? For any reason: numbers, size, a new bait, fun to use, etcetera.

For me, it has been the Ned rig with weedless Z-man head and a TPE tail (Elaztech or Crush City). It's quite weedless, very durable and fish definitely go for it. I ...

Re: Favorite lure of 2024

Definitely the Strike King Bitsy Bug Jig with the Berkley Craw Fatty trailer. It's been money all year.

I have used these a few times, but only the ones sold at Walmart. They have always been 1/4 ounce and white plus another natural color only. Your post led me to find them at Tackle ...

Re: San Diego mayor proposes cuts to lake access in budget plan

If you try to check this information, there may be some errors. Barrett isn't open 9 months a year, it's open 5 months a year, so he's already saving a bundle, just by clarifying. For the overview, I put together this little chart. reservoir daily cost.JPG Can someone explain why hodges is $3K per ...

Re: San Diego mayor proposes cuts to lake access in budget plan

A lot of the lakes already have iron rangers or automated kiosks. Only the city would argue they save money by not collecting money.

Is there any sort of detailed accounting report for the lakes?

El Cap about to be unlaunchable

Wow

Looks like we only have a few weeks left before they draft it below the launch ramp. Another lake about to bite the dust. Geez Louise!

Sign against reduced City Lakes access

Hey everyone, I saw this on Nextdoor.
If you go to https://www.change.org/topic/san-diego there is currently a petition to sign to keep Lake Miramar open more than just 2 days a week.
I imagine there will be many San Diegans out there doing what they can to try to fight reduced SD City lakes access ...

Public Comment...May 5th session

I attended the City Council session last night for Public Comment on the proposed changes to the 2026 City Budget. The place was filled to capacity with overflow in the media room. EVERYONE was fired up for their causes......so was I. Glad I got there early as I was one of the first to express my ...

Re: New Loveland Updates

Appreciate your ongoing efforts to force Sweetwater to do the right thing. Remarkable how hard it is to get people to do that. Don't think I've been there since 2022 but it's an awesome lake that everyone deserves to have the opportunity to enjoy for years to come. I'll never forget when Loveland ...

Re: New Loveland Updates

I continue to conduct research and press regulators and politicians for the sake of Loveland. Loveland was essentially co-dewatered by Waterboards, CDFW, USFWS, and the Sweetwater Authority. It's no wonder accountability is hard to come by. It has been a system that has harmed environmental ...

Re: Water Conditions SD Bay and Surf

I know it’s going to be tough fishing with the rapid shift in water temperature it will probably take a few days for fishing to come around. Also the Bacteria counts go sky high in the Ocean after the rains. You probably don’t want to be breathing in the spray or wading around in that stuff.

Re: Water Conditions SD Bay and Surf

As far as the bay goes, it can get pretty gross in San Diego bay after big rain storms. The back bay especially gets lots run off and debris from the city. I’ve found the bite to be slow until at least a couple days after it rains.
