Re: What fish is this?
I haven't had too much luck at most lakes, but the bass smashed the Smithwick Rogue in that color at Morena.Everydog wrote: Sun Nov 05, 2023 7:54 pm Been killing them out there on my log perch imitators, and now I know why!

Schooling a fish biologist with wiki links. Bravo
Pulled straight from Dill and Cordone (1997), History and status of introduced fishes in California 1871-1996 Fish Bulletin 178, but it could be misinformation...what do I know?
I was not contradicting anything you said, read my post again ...

Re: Academics for Anglers:
You sure have. You went above and beyond on loveland. At least speaking for my self, for me, it isn’t being weak. It’s more of being hopeless, knowing that fighting the government, especially in Ca is a losing battle. If they let someone walk out of store with nearly 1k goods, their not going to help.

Re: New Loveland Updates
They might get their sand mining after all. At least some dredging. Do you know if they ever fixed the valve when they drained it?

Re: New Loveland Updates
Would like to see the fish population come back. Was some really nice catfish in the lake. Been seeing some really fat bass around 10 to 11 inches in small schools.

Re: New Loveland Updates
So many ideas on how to spend that $750K. Sounds like a bit of light at the end of a very long tunnel.

Re: New Loveland Updates
The buckets of smaller fish that have been put into Loveland will spawn next year (if they aren't already getting busy). Their success depends on whether the water district screws around with the water level next spring and summer. "Genetics" aren't needed; with warm water, consistent water levels ...

Re: New Loveland Updates
Loveland is a classic example of the pathetic politicians and beauracrats we have running this state! Loveland would probably be fine now if they just left it alone!

Re: Willpower.. when not Bass fishing
I realize there is a lot of BS out there, but it is pretty amazing the amount of work done in a video to make it appear that this bait

remember when swimbaits started hitting ...

Missing the Southern Cal weather - sorta?
Greetings all,
It's been a few months since I last posted. Kentucky country life is outstanding. It's nice you're able to fish and shoot on your property (the ranch) with zero repercussions (except scaring off a couple of the neighbor's cows).
I've stocked over 15 lbs of fathead minnows and 100 ...

Great price on baitcaster....
Not sure where to put this...
On Amazon right now (Feb 14th) you can get a Daiwa CC 80 (righthand) for $47.56 and free shipping.
Small, palmable body. Holds up to saltwater use (even though it doesn't have stainless bearings). The mag brake thingy actually works, and can be cranked up to help ...

Re: New Loveland Updates
Too bad they couldn’t open government cove when the levels are down as an option. Wishful thinking
