Re: Dixon Lake - Nothing Great - Just to Let You Know We Ain't Dead Yet

I’m with you on the early kick-outs. I’ve been yelled at at least once for not going on the first warning. Ok maybe the second 😜

7-21 Report Late

Sorry for the late report but had a room at Viejas after fishing and there were too many distractions lol. Like Saturday am, Sunday morning weather was amazing. Little wind if any in Hauser and temps great until about 10. That gave us 5+ hours to crack the day’s code. We had a reel misadventure that ...

Re: Hodges 7/20

Yep, just keep dropping the water level til it's just a carp pond! San Diego's specialty..trashing the City lakes! Remember back when Hodges was on the cover of Bassmaster Magazine..the good ol days of Botroff and Brown! Now we have Toad Glorious and his City Council groupies!

The line to get ...

Re: Barrett Rental Boats Setups

You will get great feedback here. My one suggestion is to get one of these, then switch around the head of you TM to enable driving the TM from the front of the boat vs the back or side. I have seen a guy or two rig up a foot pedal which would be awesome but more work and $$.

Bouncing Spammers

Thanks Admins. There seems to have been a rash of them lately. Are we really fertile ground for these crooks? I think not 😉

Re: Barrett Rental Boats Setups

I throw my stuff in the same spot every time so I always know where everything is on the boat. Don't need anything fancy to organize it. I use the trolling motor in reverse 90%+ of the day and just treat the back of the boat like the front of the boat once the outboard's off. Already enough work ...

7-28 Not Hot but Steady!

Fished shallow just below the bridge from 6:30 til 10 and picked up 16 on the minnow pinned on a 3/16oz ball jig. 15 feisty spotties and one baby butt. Tons of short bites so not sure they were totally on the chew. The breeze came on just as forecasted about 10am.

It is a Damiki Vault Blade Bait.

My Damiki’s have a blade in place of that back treble. I should probably switch that out for another treble as there’s already plenty of flash and vibration.

Re: 7-28 Not Hot but Steady!

Sometimes I wonder if launching my boat at Glorietta and trying to find parking is worse than launching at Shelter Island and motoring all the way up to the bridge. I hate going over or getting stuck on that bridge towing my boat with traffic. What are your thoughts.

We usually launch at the ...

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH

Young Theo is a legend in the making. A sponge for knowledge, executing at an adult level, and he wants to catch more than you. He’s fun to watch!!

Re: BASS KID BAGS DOUBLE-DIGIT BARRETT LARGEMOUTH

Here to say the fish was neither weighed nor measured at the time of the catch. How the weight estimate came about was the photo of Theo holding the fish compared to his torso, roughly his shoulders to his knees, which his dad measured at 27”. At least one Northern chart out there says 11.95lbs ...

Not Great But Still Fishing!

Wish I had a better report but we still brought home ceviche and filet fixins. Hit the kelps just outside the Point and caught two quick checkerboards. Thursday dinner, check ✔️. The goal was at least 3 more for neighbors but things got pretty quiet at the top of the water column. Hit the Whistler ...

Now This Was Barrett! 8-17

Barrett buddy Dan and I headed out to Pine at 5:30 and settled into Chris/Pourboy’s favorite jig flat. Was surprised nobody beat us there and we milked 27 bass out of there on 4” pumpkin/purple senkos and 3.5” smokey ghost minnows on 1/16 ball jigs. Putted around Pine a bit more for one here and ...

Re: Barrett Report August 18

Good seeing you out there. Surprisingly the wind died down around noon and was manageable until we got off the water at 3. Might have stayed that way longer too. Overall the best fishing conditions we’ve had this summer.
