Re: 6/11-Murray setback/still fished
That would sure be a bummer heading to El Cap and realizing it was closed. I know me and think I would say at least 20, I mean 30
or more words than "Oh Sh**! :-)
That El Monte road never seems to end the older I get.
Years ago it seemed shorter...ha ha

Well fortunately San V was open so ...

Re: 6/13- Murray Madness
Nice work VB!! If I caught fish like that at Murray I’m not sure I’d go anywhere else.

Re: Filamentous Algae
Great question. I will be watching this thread as its full on algae these days. I try to go the weightless or minimal weight route but just about every unbit cast is a clean job. Topwater or busters higher in the water column solves the problem if you are doing that, but I’m usually not unless there ...

I’ve left a few there…VinnyBass wrote: Sat Jun 15, 2024 8:12 am Looks like a fun morning for you and your son.
Glad you didn’t lose that little crank bait because there’s a lot of stick ups there waiting to steal it from you.

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16
Hey Dave never brought beers on my boat 🤔
Great day out there Chris! Your whopper plopper retrieve caught my eye…are you actually pausing just an hair and letting it sink some or is that my imagination? I’ve always used a constant fairly quick retrieve like a buzzbait so it always stays on top of ...

Re: Nonstop Topwater & Jigs Action 6/16
Great day on the water with you. Thanks for the tutorial on jigs. I was so excited with that fish until he clearly knew what he was working with and wrapped me around a tree. I'm going to practice a bit more.
John, apologies. I will definitely fix that on our next trip. I actually bought a new ...

Morning Sesh El Cap 6-21
Have an old work and fishing buddy here visiting that bolted to North Carolina in ‘99. We picked up our rivalry right where we left off at El Cap this morning from 6-9:30. He got a white spinnerbait fish quickly and I nabbed one on a micro 1/8 Oz jerkbait. BTW that was on the Dannicus Ark BFS reel ...

Re: Morning Sesh El Cap 6-21
Nice job out there. The pics tell the story as it is always fun to fish with an old fishing buddy. You guys
probably caught up on lots of fish stories no doubt. That was nice of you letting him catch one more than you
but that was probably only a one time deal. Anyway, I enjoyed your post and so ...

Re: Reapers
Agree on the split shot. Old school. Pinch the lighter round shot, like a 4 or 5 size, about 15 inches up the line. Where Camobass looks to be fishing deeper, my lighter shot stays higher in the water column longer and often gets bit on the fall. I am however in contact with the bottom plenty and ...

Re: Barrett Report June 22
I always thought you need instant motion with the whoppers and choppers to keep them on the surface but Pourboy’s success the other day with intermittent sinks has me thinking.

Re: D&K 6/23
Oh no…not your crankbait?!?! Oh well, it lived a very good life for you! I have a similar plug to that walker. Haven’t hooked a fish on it yet but hooked about everything else that came within a foot of it. Upholstery, fingers, other lures, clothing, you name it! Thanks for the report.

Re: SD Bay 6/21 Epic
Great day with your girl and mom overseeing. Just lost mine in April and I swear she was watching over me as I almost burned up my boat. I say almost as she set in motion a warning from a neighbor that kept things manageable. See post in boat maintenance forum if interested. Anyway, fantastic ...

Re: Bass Boat Restoration and Repair!
Just curious, did you see what the cost was parts and labor? I know sometimes insurance jobs can be different than a normal pay job but just wondering as I need some carpet and don’t have the time to attempt myself.

Re: D&K 6/23
The good ole Hound dog. Early release nailed it. If I’m not wrong, he saw mine in action and had to buy one. Just Friday I used it twice…once on a hung up worm. A first as I usually only pull it out for crankbaits but it was handy.
