Wed 31 report
Got out with the usual suspects, Dave and Steve. Much cooler than last week, 53 degrees, last week was 71 at 4:30am. Water level continues to drop, which could have caused the morning bite to be slower, that and the cooler weather. Did start to catch them on top when daylight came, a couple of healthy bass on popper and crawler. Not many busters down Hauser sides, today the popper was the go to bait for me especially the new Shimano flash and also got them on wacky senko. Overall another great day with @40 bass, left @1pm. Weather was 93 and water was 77

Popper is always a go to lure
. That my little Rapala was doing good numbers in that first spot we were, and then when I went around the corner it was like candy to the 1 pound club.
John, I have some of those Heddon crawlers and they work great. The pompadour throws a little more noise.

Those are some healthy looking fish! BTW, how did you catch two at once? Last month on my tube I managed to get two on at once dragging an Ika while working a crankbait, but they both hit at once and I couldn't reel in either lest I drop a rod (they both tied themselves in branches and I looked idiotic to a passing boat).619bassin wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2024 9:22 am Got out with the usual suspects, Dave and Steve. Oh, and I may have discovered the source of the dropping water levels!

I caught one on the crawler and use the leash to hold it then I got the other one on the popper.Shawnster wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2024 5:03 pmThose are some healthy looking fish!
