Re: First time at Barrett Lake help.

Were you guys the foursome leaving the dock around 3ish to head back out? If yes, you were asking all the right questions and seemed to have a great plan in place already. As for where to fish, the dock can have plenty of action but 99% of the Barrett experience is out on the lake. Finding a hot ...

Re: Great Day On Mission Bay!

You need a bigger net 😜

Seriously, great work as always and love seeing MB. I pass it by to fish the big bay and that’s probably my bad. I need to learn it living right up the hill.

I do have net issues. I’ve at least managed not to lose this one yet. I think I have to at least catch a fish ...

Do not try to keep up with Vinny's lure collection...soon your garage would look like a Bass Pro Shop....
It already does…or at least the outlet version 😂

Re: 8/24 & 8/25

Hi, nice report. It does seem like the dinks are the dominant catch. Last week, I found fish suspended over no structure and not relating to bait balls, which were also hard to find. I think there's something going on with the combination of odd weather ( for this time of year ) the clarity of ...

Fishing for Quality 9-1

After consulting the regulars and reports, the plan was to go deeper for more quality over quantity today. Brought my floating Garmin Striker to watch our depths and it definitely seemed like the fish in 15-20 were better. The calm glassy morning in Pine kicked out nice ones mostly on 4” senkos. My ...

Re: Barrett Report August 28

I pride myself with having so many various lures from the decades of fishing all over my garage, house, boat and even in my kayak...but
I have never had a flying fish type of bait or a bait with wings. Oh wait...I got it.... I guess it is called a Pompadour. That bait is crazy looking and even ...

brush hogs.jpg
Hey....just curious on if others throw Zoom Brushhogs. They been around since 1977 and decades ago they were pretty darn
popular as a very popular type of creature baits. I remember using them back then, especially at El Cap and Morena
with great results. Then years later they(many ...

Re: San Vicente Late Summer Bass

Very nice!
Always enjoy the videos and watching you on the rougher water the first 20 seconds, I ran to the medicine chest to take some
Dramamine, but put it away as the water calmed down. Always feel like I am fishing right there with you and great to
see your post and hopefully there are ...

Re: How is the shore fishing?

Check with the tube rules, you might get more than one head per ticket. As for shoreline fishing, it’s pretty limited. You would be scrambling down some steep, rocky, critter-infested areas to get to the water. Pigs Point does have better access but is busy at times with launchers. There is a pretty ...

Re: How is the shore fishing?

Thanks for the info. Maybe 3 or 4 hours of fishing the dock zone would be worth the trip. I can remember catching one or two by the dam shoreline at the last cast on the way in.

Always on the lookout for snakes, but thanks for the reminder.

There is a pretty good spot by the dock with the ...

Re: Barrett Big Bass

Odd that for such an effective technique, the backlash is no one's favorite method.

As an alternative, cast, have a beer, then start the retrieve. Might be super effective. But don't go overboard with too much of a good thing.

Or if you are driving the trolling motor, start a move after a ...

Nice job!
Using lizards eh? I forgot about those. I better go in the garage and bring some out of retirement...ha ha
I have not fished Barrett in decades and it would be nice if it was open year round especially
because so many anglers love to fish there...........or would that be a bad thing ...
