SoBay Saturday...

Float tubes are a convenient and affordable way to get on the water, and finally get to those fish that you can't reach from shore. Discuss float tubes, outfitting float tubes for fishing, and float tube fishing.

SoBay Saturday...

Post by Carpkiller »

Fished with Gotfish? and Spektrum today on the west side of the big bay.

Those two had the good sense to head back south when the breeze started to pick up. spen

I spent some time kicking into the wind to fish the Fidder's Cove navy anchorage. Only got a couple spotties, but landed my PB .....Goby.

Fished from 7 a.m. to 4 pm.

24 Spotties

Mostly on a 3 inch swimbait Chartreuse/Red and vice versa.

And a few on ScorcherZ.

Also got a solid halibut that turned into an angel ray about two seconds into the fight.

And another halibut that was only about 13 inches...short of legal.

Looking forward to the big tidal flush next weekend....

No pic of the goby? I have never caught a goby in the bay.

How big was this whopper?

The retrieve I find most effective for soft plastics (grubs, Ned rig, swimbaits) in the bay is goby like: drag a few inches, pause on the bottom, repeat.

Was a great time meeting ya out there even though fishing was a bit slow.

Went back out yesterday found the Halibut again right where we left them!

Looks like a great day to me, that was one of your home made baits I think, nothing more satisfying than getting them on your bait, what size head was that?
Have a great GOBBLE, GOBBLE DAY
